Goodtimes12128 230
She used to seem so cool and punk rock, using pop music to become famous. Now she's singing sound of music at the Oscar's. Still love her though.
AbuHassan1992 766
In the beginning Gaga was not relatable on a personal level. She was kind and caring and looked out for others, but her image and way she carried herself was not "human" - it was very much that of a "super star," which is what she was going for. She wanted to bring back the Pop Star. The star that people wanted to obsess over, the person that provided a fantasy- remember how she refused to drink water on stage because she didn't want people to see her doing natural things like that?As time went on she became more "human" to us and to others. She wanted to be taken more seriously. Hell, she's getting older. She probably didn't want her heart, passion, and talent to continue to be overshadowed by her (genuinely done) satire of Fame culture. I certainly miss the Gaga from the early days. I miss her because she created a fantasy that was fascinating and left me wanting to dig for more. But I also love the Gaga we have nowadays who is an incredible woman with a voice as great as her heart. It'd be great if she could blend the two to give us the best of both worlds, but I think constantly shaping how the world sees you (and making music, planning tours, being involved with other businesses, having your own foundation, etc. etc.) is a hard enough job as it is. you put it perfectly

MTE. It's good that monsters saw the good person behind her weird persona, but the public never saw it. They couldn't get past her strange behavior and therefore refused to see her talent and her kindness. Now she is liked by more people than ever, and that is a very good thing. Everyone wants to be loved, and Gaga is no exception. She has much happiness ahead of her now. I live outside the space time continuum.
HANZ 4,380
HELL TO THE ****ING YEAH her attitude and all those looks, she was so fierce and fearless, I miss that, she literally didn't give a **** back then about what haters had to say, then she tried to be this "mother teresa" and that was not something that I really like gosh all those looks you posted slay my life My Favs = Lady Gaga, Janet Jackson, Ricky Martin, AKB48
HANZ 4,380
I liked that too! But the thing I liked even more was the mystery that was Lady Gaga. I was trying to figure out who she was for so long...I love Gaga today and only miss these things in a nostalgic way. I liked it back then, but don't wish she was like that today because I know she's evolved and is much happier nowthisit's like she came from another world, galaxy, space and time, like a mysterious woman and like the OP said she had this "too cool to be even real" vibe around hershe had the world on her knees not for her success but for how interesting and mysterious she used to be My Favs = Lady Gaga, Janet Jackson, Ricky Martin, AKB48
VforVendetta 2,024
I do agree that she looked more fearless. It's just that as we know more about her we learn more about the human behind her looks and since with BTW she exposed her human side to her fans she gave us the feeling that she wasn't that ''untouchable'' anymore. It's all part of the persona she is pulling with each Era. I do want more of the mystery of 2009 back but there is no way way that Gaga will ever again be that ''unknown'' to us and it's ok. The whole image that we had about her back then had also to do with the fact that she was on top of coursel, so I do think that it has to do with success as well. We felt that she dominated the world and that made her look untouchable.
Kacey Elizabeth 900
yeah, I've missed Gaga from 2009 too. But I've missed her from all aspects; I've missed her success, starrom/popularity, personality, music, looks, everything! I feel her current admiration would allow her to get away with more "shocking" and "out there" acts/outfits, but I also feel that she's not interested in that anymore. It'll be interesting to see what she does next, and how performance art plays into her album eras.
HORRORHOLIC 109
The one thing I do miss is the mystique. I miss her having everyone on the edge of their seat to see what she would do next, what her next performance would be like, what she would wear etc...One of the main reasons I started liking her was because I was so happy to see someone bringing theatrics back to music, and not just bringing theatrics back but bringing it back and doing it right. Also I remember her doing an interview and promising her fans she would never go out in public looking normal "I would never do that to them" It was awesome to hear that because so many "rock stars" I grew up listening to calmed down/matured over time and I thought it would be great if she was one of the few who didn't. I didn't wanna see her become one of them (just another performer) I liked it when she made people feel a little uncomfortable and people looked at her like she had two heads.I'm happy she's showing off her talent more now though, and I hope she continues to do so but also brings a little more of the mystique back next time. YeehawKylie 7,817
The issue is that Gaga quickly went from being a trendsetter and iconic star to becoming a parody of herself.
Mariano 958
I understand what you're trying to say... She lost some of her AURA. She had this AURA, she was so mysterious and everything change with BTW, she got too personal etc. and now her AURA is returning again, so I think you should just keep support her etc. People have different stages in their lives, she really was so different in 2008-2010 and 2011-2014, now she is also different than she was before, let's hope it's for the better

I guess I worry too much. Monsters are actually a small part of the public and I really want her to be more universally loved. I think she will continue to innovate and push boundaries, but in a way that not turn most people away. I think she will find a way to do this while still favoring creative art over commercialism. It would take a creative genius to make that work, but fortunately we are talking about Gaga. I live outside the space time continuum.
