field 98 Posted March 30, 2015 Share Posted March 30, 2015 To me, any kind of reforms to make the meat/dairy industry more 'humane' only re-draw the boundaries around the core belief that exploitation and use of animals is basically acceptable. These processes inherently cause suffering. It's not necessary to eat any of these products. My perspective is, that if you can live well without causing suffering and harm, why wouldn't you? But it'll be extremely difficult, if not impossible to make everyone go vegetarian though if that's what you mean, so I figure it's more realistic to ensure as little suffering to animals as possible, even if they end up killed for food anyway. What change isn't difficult though?Why aim for something you don't actually want or believe in? I want people to see that it's not necessary to use animals at all, so why would I put any energy whatsoever into persuading them to kill animals nicely?I don't want to make anyone anything do anything...
