I would NOT recommend quitting Spotify for an an older artist who is weak in streaming, like Madonna. Your older fans own hundreds of albums and aren't that into new music. They aren't paying 20 a month to stream what they already own.

I'm not sure... why would you use Spotify/Tidal if you can just ask a friend for their mega? 

But no, really, I don't see a point in Spotify. You get bad quality unless you pay extra for it, and even then, I don't think it's even 320 kbps... Maybe Tidal will be in a good quality and will be useful. Otherwise, I'll be asking my friends for stuff (or finding the deluxe edition at Target, if it's not there, I'll check online.)

Some of us need to eat.Music is not a f-ing charity work (even though we do that alot too, rich or poor musicians). Not gonna do this. The good marketing of Spotify is that electricity or internet subscriptions often come with free Spotify premium, which is why it's so popular in West- and North-Europe. I think this project will fail. Artists alone in't enough to get this moving. The GP doesn't think: "Yes, more money to the artists! Let me support multimillionaire Madonna, Beyonce and JayZ in this!"

Spotify is the best thing to happen to the music industry in the past 5 years. Some (Spotify) pay for the artists is better than none (illegal downloading).

​Oh yes it is! I will now leave this thread, it got me all furious and acting immature and I apologize for my harsh comments to everyone. But please know that piratism DOES affect quite a lot of us musicians in many ways. Should I then from now on get hair cuts for 10 cents? Free doctor's appointments? I should definately be allowed to take clothes from stores for free right?
