You don't need to worry; despite all the media coverage it really is the safest time to be flying. You're more likely to be injured or die on the car ride to the airport. The struggle the pilot must have gone through to open that damn door.Rest in peace all victims and if there is anything after life, that pilot can rot in hell as far as I'm concerned. The people noticing the plane is descending quickly, the crew and second pilot trying to open the door and desperately trying to calm people down..... the time of impact. If a person switches it to 'lock' you cannot open the door. Even if you want to force it to open with your code on this pad. (watch 0:25). So it is not necessary to stand up. However, as mentioned above, it could be suicide. Thank you for this! And I can't believe it's been confirmed. I'm just at a loss for words. Ugh. I mean the front is not so big, it’s just the loo and a small hall way so I bet once the pilot started bouncing and kicking into that door the people must have been scared about what’s going on.
