On topic: It's hardly news that Madonna's vocals aren't amazing; nobody that likes her is there for her vocals  Gene's view is very one-sided though (plus he's bashed Madonna before in the past) because there's things that Madonna has that no other artist has either

I would love a rock duet album with a wide range of bands and singers. Like she did with Tony. Imagine Gaga recording a album with all her rock n roll friends: Black Sabbath, Judas Priest, Bruce Springsteen, Paul Mc Cartney, Foo Fighters, Courtney Love, Heart, Kiss, The Rolling Stones, Sting, Stevie Nicks, Alice Cooper....It would kill me. 

I did wish for a jazz album 4 years ago and thought I'd never happen, so I keep my hopes up!

Madonna can sing - that is all it is now. Nothing exceptional anymore.  It's Madonna's tactics that drew me away from her in the years -  and I guess other artist as well. She was the best thing in the 80's but that was the 80's. Madonna's Era.  She keeps coming but it just doesn't work because she  doesn't do those hits at her concerts  (what I have heard )- so why go?

How she talks about Gaga is just "mean."   Sure Madonna will be on talk shows and say something like nice about Gaga - well lets be two-face. But never have I seen a talk show host stand up to the moment and ask Madonna about a article that Madonna was quoted in that dragged Gaga or any other artist. That is BS.  And we all know what Madonna did on her tour concerning Gaga. 

Sorry, I have to vent.

Yes, I am glad their are artist like Simmons giving Gaga praise not just this time but other times.   He is credible - I feel he knows  what a true artist is. He knows the business. Perhaps Gaga well take his suggestion.
