Chromatislaps 34,851
Actually it is.. ARTPOP has a lot louder instrumentals and they sound fuller. But if you listen to some TFM instrumentals they are really complex..Most ARTPOP's instrumentals are pretty simple and loud.the simplest ARTPOP tracks are on equal ground with the RedOne track regarding complexity. Its the Zedd tracks that are melodically and rhytmically more complex. Alejandro, So Happy I Could Die, Monster, Bad Romance are nothing compared to the layered sounds in Aura, Donatella, GUY. But I guess simplicity is key, and thus the RedOne tracks slayed the GP more then ARTPOP did. the DJWS & Madeon tracks are indeed fairly simple in their construction, compared to the TFM RedOne tracks. djBuffoon 12,123
This keyboard is pretty simple tho .It's repetitive and it just changes in every chord.. That's a pretty simple thing to do The modulations and ways that Madeon plays around with that initial concept throughout the song is hardly simple. If it were written on sheet music, for example, one would have to look at it for a while before playing it. Nothing on TFM is that complex but again, I would love to hear any examples you have. User 352
I don't like Zedds work on ARTPOP, G.U. Y is an good song but to commonly, it could be from everyone, Rihanna, Britney......and his work sounded distant. Also he used for 2 of the 3 songs instrumentals of existing songs not very original - it was not an real collaboration, they were barely together in studio. Gaga and RedOne growth as artists and there is a special chemistry between them which they-self can not even explain - they will make magic on the next level (:
djBuffoon 12,123
Btw MJH's instrumental is a sampleI'm genuinely curious where the complexity is in TFM, do you have any examples?
Bradley 59,163
actually no, there is more repetitiveness in the construction of those songs on TFM...saying this from a producers standpointAgree everything to this.On topic: Judas-level music aka one of the highest standards of music. It is her signature sound to a T.

djBuffoon 12,123
1) http://***.com/topic/26943-‘can’t-beat-the-machines’-mary-jane-holland-demo/ 2)Bad Romance's beat is INCREDIBLY smart and complex if you listen to all the details 1) The thing about "MJH" is that the complexities in the production are matched by how clever the melody is which, unless I'm mistaking, Gaga wrote. I've known for months that the instrumental was intended for another song. So was "Government Hooker", doesn't diminish the work. 2) I've been listening to all of Gaga's instrumentals for years. Chromatislaps 34,851
Agree everything to this. On topic: Judas-level music aka one of the highest standards of music. Judas is really layered and complex...but its not on the TFM
