Breakup Rumor: Katy Perry and John Mayer Split Due To Success, Lack Of Attention, And Trust Issues

After a two-month reconciliation, Katy Perry and John Mayer have apparently called it quits again.

According to a source from Radar Online, it appears Mayer cannot handle the "lack of attention" when Perry gets busy with work, which is the same reason why they broke up the first time around. This marks the third time that the singers have split.

"Katy and John reconnected once she had a break in her Prismatic World Tour. So, for those few months they had a great time, pretending that it would last—and of course it didn't," said the source to Radar Online.

"The reason they have split in the past is because Katy gets busy. John can't handle the lack of attention, and she can't handle the trust issues she has when she's so far away. So they've learned that it's better to just take a break when they can't be in the same place."

The source also adds that Perry's success is starting to affect her relationship with the 37-year-old singer.

"The fact that he doesn't have anything major going on with his career is really starting to take a toll on their relationship," the source added. "Katy is at an all-time high. She is starting to give in to what everyone around her is saying, that maybe she is too good for him."

The pair last parted ways in February last year. Then, in January of this year, Perry and Mayer were spotted leaving a house in Los Angeles together before a dinner date. They were also seen at Super Bowl earlier this year.

Reps for Mayer and Perry have yet to comment on the breakup rumors.
