This guy Matt used to weight 497 but for the past 6 years he's been working out and he lost around 270 pounds. He asked people for donation to remove his excess skin so he can look fit and normal. In just two days, he had already raised over $42K of the $20K needed. Wow! The guy really need the surgery because the extra skin show man boobs.

Read the story on Cosmo.

i refuse to believe this is from working out. this is the effect of fat removal, if he was 'working out' he wasnt doing it properly, that cannot be normal :rip: my condolences to him

I agree. He was obviously not doing something right.

This kind of thing happens when you loose a lot of weight over a very short period of time... that being said it wouldn't be nice to live with and hopefully the surgery is helpful for him... though from his other posts i can kind of see him becoming rather narcissistic hope I'm wrong though :spin:

At least he's $42K richer, and maybe he got liposuction and now need more money to fix the excess skin.

You can't remove hundreds of pounds of weight with lipo. It would kill the person.

if you lose hundreds of pounds, you have to have skin removal surgery in some areas. That's how it is.

This is so ignorant, I don't even know where to start, tbh.

He's not lying... he just wasn't doing something right, otherwise that wouldn't have formed on his body after losing a lot of weight.

Why do people continue to give money if the goal has been doubled? give it to a charity or someone who needs it also

Some of the replies in here are just mean spirited and down right nasty. Shameful.

Congratulations to Matt on his weight loss and now excess skin surgery.

I don't think we should be making assumptions lol. Not everyone is a personal trainer/body expert who knows how to lose weight efficiently. He probably did this in his own terms and I have seen people on other news programs with excess skin from normal weight loss. Good on him for losing the weight though, he obviously cares about his health and is making a change in his life which I think we should be focusing on.

You obviously know nothing about weight loss. What he has is normal for someone who has been extremely obese.  It's not just loosing several kilos, but we're talking about dozens. He weighted 225 kg and now only 120kg. Form these 120kg, at least 20 kg are excess skin. The skin normally is elastic, but not to that extent. So, before making such stupid accusations of not doing something the right way, just inform yourself about how it is.

A girl from my high school was extremely overweight and she lost around 50/60 kg but she still looked overweight 'cause of the skin that was left, she used private trainer who also gave her food plan, so she was doing it right, extra skin must stay if you were that overweight and then lost A LOT. It has to be removed by a surgery, she's planning to do it too.

If you lose a lot of weight in a short amount of time then you'll probably have excess skin from where your skin stretched to accommodate fat before :omg: That's why it's advised to lose weight slowly and gradually so your body has time to adjust and for things to attempt to get back to normal, but to be honest, if you're already that overweight then I'd imagine it'd be pretty much impossible to avoid being left with excess skin :ohno: At the end of the day, it's better to have lost weight and be left with excess skin than stay obese, so he's still won at the end of the day

Congratulations to Matt on his weight loss and best of luck to him with his upcoming surgery :applause:
