Sad her numbers are so low this time around... especially with such a glorious album.... oh well, I bet many, many more heard the leaks.

She should have pushed something like a soundtrack song or maybe a feature on someone else's song to generate interest (and test the waters) before she came out with a whole new album.

Oh well, the music itself and her promo performances are a real return to form for me.

Agreed. She should really do a soundtrack again.

ARTPOP sold an additional 100k plus pure album copies its third week. lol

People say its because the price dropped, but Rebel Heart was at $6.99 its first week on Amazon.

Rebel Heart is available for 7:99 at HMV Canada this week - which is a discount ARTPOP and C2C only had Black Friday weekend.

FCK you and your stereotypes just because most of this fanbase only listens To pop and female music its not all oft US.

HipHop and rap will always be in top goddamn even my mothers likes kendricks music. And she is far away From a life with guns d--gs biatches

Oh, stfu.

I gave you facts from the US Census to back up my comment and explained that it was only a CONTRIBUTING factor, not the only one. Not ONCE did I say that only black people listen to or buy Rap music...not once! In fact, I made sure to state that buyers of Rap include tons of individuals who are not from a minority group. Do you have comprehension problems?

For your information, I'm not the typical pop girl lover that we often find here on GGD. And aren't you stereotyping a whole fanbase by implying that they all listen to pop/female music? First off, there is a fanbase that exists outside of GGD, you know? There are also many here who listen to music outside of the pop girl world, including many Rap fans. Interesting coming from you anyhow, someone who is over in the Sam Smith thread saying you don't like him because he isn't "masculine enough".:smh:

Polish up on your comprehension skills and examine your own stereotypes!

The streaming rule really isn't helping her charting this era either... older artists don't get streamed as much. But at least sales stick around forever, streaming just comes and goes like the attention-span of a teeny-bopper.

Some time ago I said this is her Britney Jean era and no one believed me.

considering that work b---h actually charted on hot 100 whereas living for love did not, this isn't even her britney jean era :thetea:

Madonna doesn't deserve that. She must be more respected.

if people don't want the album, they don't want it

It seems like surprise releases really are the way forward for the music industry right now :omg: (Taylor Swift being the exception :toofunny: ). I wonder how long it'll last though, like will it eventually slump down to just 50-100k? And if so, how long will it take until it gets there?

It may seem like a stunt/trendy thing to do right now, but it's like the only way to avoid an album leak. A high profile release will inevitably leak during the shipment process.

Imagine the numbers ARTPOP would've pulled if the only way that music-hungry Gaga fans could hear the album was just to buy it on iTunes. They would have. But instead everybody just gets the leaked version. Most people are content with having the leaked version cause it's the first one they can get their hands on. Hell, back when I was just a casual Gaga fan, I never would've gone to the store or waste money on iTunes to buy TF or TFM because I already had the leaked version. It was enough. I sincerely hope Gaga releases on iTunes first and holds off on physical and spotify for at least a week next time. But then again, she has been quoted saying she doesn't care to trick people into buying her albums. I mean, that's essentially what it is. It's a scheme to avoid leaks and maximize sales. But maximum sales is good hype, it's good PR, and it will almost always mean better reception from critics and fans.
