Here are this week’s key debuts, with both Sales Plus Streaming (SPS) numbers first, followed by albums:Kendrick Lamar (TDE/Aftermath/Interscope) 350-375k SPS (300-325k albums)Modest Mouse (Epic) 70-7k SPS (65-70k albums)Marina & The Diamonds (Atlantic) 45-50k SPS (40-45k albums)Sleeping With Sirens (Epitaph) 40-45k SPS (35-40k albums)AWOLNATION (Red Bull) 35-40k SPS (30-35k albums)Kendrick Lamar will top next week's albums and SPS charts with the year's second-largest debut, behind only Drake. Haroon 49,685
It seems like surprise releases really are the way forward for the music industry right now (Taylor Swift being the exception ). I wonder how long it'll last though, like will it eventually slump down to just 50-100k? And if so, how long will it take until it gets there? Phoenix 17,395
It's funny how today those sales are HUGE for an opening week, and few years ago they were considered as a huge FLOP by people who use that word. :wow: 💎

Artists who are in high demand by the audiences who still buy albums, will continue to do well...whether they have s surprise release or a traditional one. ItsTommyBitch 12,640
40-50k for Marina in the US? Thats exactly as much as I wanted for her Does this count the preorders that wont ship until April in the US? I imagine that happened for a good # of people who preordered the deluxe if not all. That would make this mostly digital sales... anyone know? 私自身もこの世の中も誰もかれもが, どんなに華やかな人生でも, どんなに悲惨な人生でも, いつかは変貌し, 破壊され、消滅してしまう. すべてがもともとこの世に存在しない一瞬の幻想なのだから
