"It's fun to write 'Scream Queens' but challenging to write 'Horror Story,'" Murphy told The Hollywood Reporter while promoting his new horror comedy anthology series on Fox. "Particularly this season ['American Horror Story: Hotel'], which is about a personal fear and phobia that I have that I haven't explored since the first season of 'Horror Story' because it f--ked me up and I didn't want to write about things I was scared of -- but I wanted to go back to that." I think the phobia Ryan is talking about is related to the home invasions.
