Definitely. The best of the entire series, I think. The characters were so well-defined, even when the story got crazy, they were always consistent yet surprising, and the viewer felt like they came to know them.

There have been a handful of times where I've felt like I really came to know a character. I can't even begin to tell you how much I wept during the Asylum finale when they talk about Judes ending, Episode 10 of FS "Orphans" was one of the best episodes of the whole series and made me cry like a baby and Sarah Paulson's performance in FS was AMAZING. I was in tears when Bette and Dot had that scene in the shed and she said she would sacrifice her life for Dot's. Those are just some of the scenes that come to mind when I think of how well AHS has done with making you fall in love with a character, even a minor one such as Pepper.

"Coven" started with great confidence and purpose, which speaks to why it was rated so highly at the beginning. But it became a mess around the halfway point. Similar to "Freak Show".

On the flip-side, "Asylum" and "Murder House" started on shaky ground, and developed into something extraordinary.

Im not saying Asylum wasn't extraordinary because it was a wonderful season but it was doing too much for the sake of shock and pushing boundaries and didn't really go anywhere (aliens, nazis, mutants) whereas Coven was just larger than life from the get-go and consistently delivered, and when it did seem to fall (Kathy Bates head situation) it picked up to good closure.

I don't agree with this. Some very shocking developments, yes, but never felt gratuitous or unearned to me. If anything, I'm glad they took risks in that season, even at the chance of pushing viewers away.

As for the aliens, etc., those were peripheral threats for texture, for filling out the world the characters were inhabiting, and each tangent was followed through to a pretty sensible conclusion. The Minotaur and Twisty were far more promising characters that really ended up being inconsequential.

It's quite weird that they decided to film something at the Loews Hollywood Hotel. The hotel has a very modern architecture and decoration, but they are only filming one day so it could be just for a couple scenes.

Though I wonder when Gaga will shoot her scenes... Maybe they'll finish the shooting of the season with all her scenes ?

For the moment she seems busy on LG5

So it looks like she's at least in episode 3 if Finn's hints are anything to go by. It seems she's taking a break for a few weeks (if this interview was filmed yesterday). Anyway, he seems excited about their scenes together. This is the first time I've seen an interview with him, he's cute but kind of has a nerdy vibe, lol. It's endearing though.

Also it's interesting that he says his character is of a lower class than Dandy. This makes me think he and Matt's characters aren't brothers (or if they are Matt's character is the "good" self made sibling). That's just a hunch though considering Matt's character is involved with Gaga's (who possibly works in the fashion industry).

From the intervierw and the way he described his character I feel that Finn will be playing some kind of male prostitute that Gaga falls in love with :fat:
