Whispering 18,865
You forgot Gaga's remix albums + The Monster Ball DVD that also counts in the 27MNope, I included the one million remix albums. Did you personally call The Oscar producers and ask them if they included a DVD in their total?Anyway you look at it, numbers from unofficial sources are going to vary. what we have are official numbers from the actual music industry professionals and labels and they are the ones who provide the accurate numbers. How much of C2C was counted in some of these reported sources?Like I stated above:Anyway you look at it, numbers from unofficial sources are going to vary. Remixes albums are albums. DVDs are counted in that too, because they can't be put in the single category. Now, stop with your bad faith on every topic. Who cares if you don't believe in estimations when we actually gave you a list of ARTPOP certified sales + knows sales that confirm it didn't reach 2.5M or 2.8M copies worlwide... This is just reflection, maths and logic.

I'll trust the adult industry professionals, who have access to the actual numbers from the music industry! Or...as Mills stated in an earlier comment today: The updated sales estimations from MediaTraffic have now grown closer to her officially recognized worldwide album sales of 27 million (as of February 2015 via press releases). Again, the keyword here is estimation since MediaTraffic doesn't have a direct and full access to all music retailers and official recording associations across the globe. It's a misleading notion that what they report are actual, over-the-counter sales. They're not like Nielsen Music in any way for their info to be regarded as "100% genuine", and there's currently no Nielsen Music equivalent that tracks over-the-counter sales in a global scale anyway. The only legitimate source of worldwide record sales and representation of the global music industry is the IFPI, and their info are supplied by the labels themselves which directly distribute music to the ones which actually sell music - meaning the ones with first-hand information and not from some independent website whose popularity is limited to music forums online. Omg... Why are you still talking about Mediatraffic ? I clearly said that It doesn't matter if you don't believe in them because even the OFFICIAL ARTPOP CERTIFIED + KNOWN SALES, that put the album at 1.7M in the biggest markets, show that it's impossible for the album to reach 2.8M WW. Is that really hard to understand ? Forget about Mediatraffic now and see ARTPOP sales and certifications: Country (Certification: sales/or sales based on certifications) Argentina (Gold: 20,000) + Germany (+50,000: 30k first week + 7k second week) + Australia (estimated 30,000: 16k first week) + Austria (Gold: 7,500) + Brazil (Platinium: 65,000) + Canada (Platinium*: 90,000) + Colombia (Gold: 5,000) + South Korea (estimated 5,000: 3,856 in 2013) + Denmark (1,133 first week) + Spain (Gold*: 12,000) + Finland (Gold: 10,000) + France (Platinium*: 65,000) + Hungary (Gold: 1,000) + Italy (Gold: 35,000) + Japan (Platinium*: 200,000) + Mexico (Platinium: 60,000) + Poland (Gold: 10,000) + Sweden (Gold: 20,000) + Switzerland (Gold: 15,000) + United Kingdom (Gold: 210,000) + United States (744,000) = 1,656,000 in total. *Certification based on shipments. Are you aware that it would mean that 844,000 copies have been sold outside of this countries ? This is clearly impossible again. Where do they come from ? Bulgaria ? Croatia ? Greece ? Latvia ? Thailand ? etc ? Clearly not. Based on certifications, and excluding all the countries I stated above, and the updated sales (because some ARTPOP sales haven't been updated for a while), ARTPOP hasn't been certified gold in other 34 countries in the world. All these gold certifications together represent around 230,000-250,000 units*. It means that ARTPOP sold less than this number in all of those countries. Conclusion: 2,5 million copies sold is just unreachable. *Source: http://tinyurl.com/mmdbxg2

It certifies ARTPOP at Platinum for 100k on 12.17.2013 one month after it was released. It also certifies ARTPOP at Gold (Or) on 12.31.2014 one year and one month after it was released. Does that mean an additional certification on top of the platinum one or within the platinum one? Does is mean because of the dates that its certified for 150k or just 100k? According to the iTunes WW chart ARTPOP is currently at #23 in Bulgaria #46 in Greece #69 in Latavia #129 In Thailand Its also still top 50 in these countries #5 Nicaragua #14 Armenia #23 Bulgaria #23 Costa Rica #28 Paraguay #29 Uzbekistan #35 Belize #35 Kyrgyzstan #37 Cyprus #37 Turkmenistan #37 Venezuela #44 Honduras #44 Tajikistan #44 Ukraine #44 Vietnam #46 Greece #47 Malta #48 Lithuania #50 Argentina The album is still selling pretty well 2 years later. Initial certifications are probably paid for to boost album sales but certifications over time are not. For example the single Bad Romance it was certified in 2013 as a Digital Diamond. It had all the sales and streams before then to make it diamond, but her record company paid for those well deserved certifications in just one day. Bad Romance was certified 5x, 6x, 7x, 8x, 9x, and 10x platinum all in the same day. Yes, I saw that new certification too In France, certifications are based on shipments, that's why the Platinium certification corresponds to the 100k copies shipped. The album actually sold 65-70k there according to Charts in France (the 2nd official chart website in France). But I have to say that I don't really understand that new certification... Maybe, the label certified the album for its real sales now ? Or maybe they're just late I do want to point out something These countries you mentioned Bulgaria ? Greece ? Latvia ? Thailand ? People just don't buy albums in those countries. That's why ARTPOP is still charting in those ones on iTunes. In some countries above, you just have to buy 2 copies of the album to push it on top... And yes! I think record compagnies are sometimes really late on certifications... That's why ARTPOP is still not certified Gold in the US
