Luc 4,776
well anything to hurt her immage. She seems like a good person and intelligent... But shes still a democrat and will follow their ideals in most aspects... And from an economic standpoint, 8 years of rising regulation and taxes is enough. Corporations arent moving out of the US for no reason. LGBT support alone i dnt think is enough to make me support democrats as the economy influences most peoples lives more than some little technicalities. Thats just my opinion though. i know 95% of people in this socialist/LGBT obsessed site will disagree with me I'd still rather see a Democrat party winning. It doesn't hurt the economy as you're making it out to be. They're still liberals, and that's what you call leftist. Liberals are considered right-wing in Europe I think that secularisation, equal rights, better care and integration for Latin immigrants, lower punishments, better international policy, better education, more regulation to prevent bubbles, more income equality, more green innovation and better emission prevention > extra economic growth of a few percent (which only few will actually notice!) The people are not here for that conservative BS and the populace as a demographic is not here for them. Dems definitely are the more likely win I'd still rather see a Democrat party winning. Goosey 3,017
I was a biT worried about Hillary 2016. Not too much, since her gender is a disadvantage in a presidential race, but she was a big name candidate nonetheless. Hopefully they elect a Republican this time round. Economy 52,843
I'd still rather see a Democrat party winning. It doesn't hurt the economy as you're making it out to be. They're still liberals, and that's what you call leftist. Liberals are considered right-wing in Europe I think that secularisation, equal rights, better care and integration for Latin immigrants, lower punishments, better international policy, better education, more regulation to prevent bubbles, more income equality, more green innovation and better emission prevention > extra economic growth of a few percent (which only few will actually notice!) the US "Liberals" are pretty left winged tho... maybe because only 2 parties dominate in America they end up splitting in extremes... And here in Canada i notice very little difference between the Liberals and the NDP (socialist party) they might as well be the same party. By ideology Liberals are suppostu be Canadas Center Wing but they often dont really act like it And its still up for debate whether more regulation, socialism and Government intervention truly helps income inequality and bubbles The Democrats have been in power for nearly 2 terms now and income inequality is not falling despite tax hikes on the rich and higher regulation. I always say providing good paying jobs is more effective at eliminating poverty than trying to tax the rich to give away in benefits Create a good business environment and u get more business investment and more jobs in turn... tax the rich a lot and rely on welfare payments and other subsities, that will never provide the same level of income as a productive job where u get a salary. Just because the idea behind socialism is less inequality and a good economy doesnt mean it works that way. The only countries ive truly seen that work in is North Europe. But these Countries are small and so much easier to regulate and Control. I dont see it working in most other Countries, in fact most other Countries have failed with socialism (EX: Greece) Corporations are leaving the US. The rediculous 35% Corporate tax rate (plus whatever States add) may have something to do with it. Corporate inversions to other Countries are a huge thing atm. Burger King Inverted with Tim Hortons to be able to move its headquarters right here to Canada. Now as for bubbles, we seem to be forgetting Government intervention in mortages was pretty much the root of the whole crisis. The Government decided to ensure and try to push banks to give crazy dangerous loans which caused an unsustainable housing boom, rising consumer debt and bad loans. The private sector would never take that much risk, but because the Government meddled they messed it up. It was actually surprisingly socialist of the Republicans to have pushed loans like that for poor people. But my point is, When the Government tries to control things in the private sector, they often do a crappy job at it. Most politicians dont really understand business better than real business men
Gagaloo911 12,959
I honestly think they do after the Democrats took a 'shellacking' in the midterm elections. And with Obama and "President" Jarrett throwing Clinton under the bus, well.. Still, I can't wait to see the Republicans tear each other apart during the primaries. I'm looking forward to another "Oops" moment. The reason they took a "shellacking" is because the Democratic coalition as a whole don't go out and VOTE in the midterms. Young people and many others usually skip the midterms and that's the big reason they lost so bad. The same thing happened in 2010 but look what happened in 2012 in the presidential election. Young people and the major democratic constituency as a whole often go out to vote only in a presidential year. That's not likely to change much, and the diverse people that America has become want the progressive policies Obama has been making. Of course we will see what will happen come presidential time next year, but I wager the Repubs don't have such a huge chance of winning as some are wanting to claim. Not to mention the major issues the Republican party is having right now and their schism. If they truly want any chance of winning they better get their scheisse together and get the Tea Party under its reins so those people don't end up having their own candidate and completely splitting the Republican vote, which will surely make a loss for them

Whispering 18,865
Read my post above, idk how to edit in another quote to it. For the record, I'm not "wanting to claim" a possible victory for the Republicans. It isn't something I'm wanting. I'm just simply looking at what is going on and predicting what I think the outcome might be.My heart and my head are saying different things, in other words. PokeHerFace 6
Yeah, if this is true this is one huge mess Plus Hillary is already criticized over the Benghazi incident and her using a private email doesn't look good. She was criticized by Right-wing extremists who believe in every conspiracy theory imaginable. The majority of the American electorate did not fall for their nonsense. None of this is working out for them, so they have to create a new so-called scandal. This email thing, which has been pointed out was not law at the time of her tenure (Colin Powell did the same thing), is expected to, by the Right, blow the lid off of a mass conspiracy regarding the Benghazi incident. They're out of their minds. She still wipes the floor with every presidential contender on both sides of the isle. It's amazing that the GOP would even dare bring up Benghazi for two reasons: first, they were the ones who would not put more security in over there when Hillary and co. told them that it was necessary, and two, how many Americans died at home and abroad on September 11th (a tragedy they wouldn't even investigate), and a bogus war that their side came up with, falsified documents, and got tons of Americans slaughtered. There is no low that they won't stoop. They'll claim that you gave your mother cancer, causing her death if it would get them a couple extra votes. This is why America will not give them the White House. They're too extreme. The Republican party is going to have to split, cutting off the Tea Party and the Christian fundamentalists for normal Americans to even consider voting for them. But their party can't survive without the Tea Party and the Christian fundamentalist vote. They used to be able to pay lip service to these people. Thanks to internet's grassroots campaigns, these extremists will no longer be given promises to that a candidate will never fulfill, so they back their own wacky candidates with tons of money. They've been emboldened. The inmates are running the asylum now. Each side wants to choose the direction of the party, and it's too extreme for the average American voter.
