Not people defending his opinion just because he wrote musicals they liked.

Whispering

He was present during the writing and production of the musical.

Link that says he was there the entire time, please.

Even so, he wasn't there for the production behind the performance at The Oscars. Like the OP stated, he has no idea what the producers of that show and of that tribute were wanting. He wasn't part or the vision and planning for the tribute.

He was being mentored by Oscar Hammerstein at the time the show went into production (he was also his surrogate father) which is wildely known. Also, while he didn't co-write, he had input in some of the lyrics and it is said so in a Sound of Music commentary and in a PBS Broadway documentary hosted by Julie herself

who will love me when the night is over

Yes, I know that he was mentored by OH and considered him to be a father figure.

I've never heard that he had tremendous input into TSOM. That's why I was asking for a link. I would like to see where it said this and if this bit of information is actually true or not. Irregardless of his comments about the tribute performance, (which I'm still going to find as missing the mark and disagree with), I would like to see the information about one of my all-time favorite movies and the music from that movie.

I wasn't aware of that, but I still stand by my statement that his opinion means no more than those who weren't involved in the movie. There are countless people who disregard the opinions of notable pop stars (i.e. Madonna), she's just another person after all with her own opinions but we aren't expected to agree or say that her opinion matters because "she's legendary and is an icon in the music industry" are we?

Did any of you notice that Nick Jonas said "preach" which is a sassy black woman/lgbt term when used in that way? Nick Jonas is closeted. :lgbt:

Um, no, it's not a technique. Being flat is never a technique. It's called being of-key. It's not rare for Gaga to be off-key, she's always had a problem with starting songs out a little flat. This is not a bad thing, since she knows how to recover from it, it's just a nitpick thing. During the performance, she tended to get pitchy and shouty while belting, and that's pretty much the only thing that took away from the performance. That, and the fact that she constantly changed her tone in order to hit the notes in the upper register (a la Nature Boy). Gaga is not perfect.

What the fuk lol? You don't even know what off-key means I see. Because Gaga didn't sing even 1 note off key in her oscars performance.. And seriously she wasn't pitchy at all lol... You can say whatever you want tho. :excuseme:
