badgalriri 1,124
I think they're comparing early career sales only.hmm still kinda doesnt make sense considering shes still not close to madonnas studio album sales...
Phoenix 17,395
It depends. But this is still impressive comparing how barely anyone buys albums today compared to when madonna debuted. 💎

darkwolf 590
Madonna sold like 64M+ albums in the US though Is that list supposed to show her discography? But Taylor's sales are definitely impressive.

Qualle1 1,385
Who cares about the units sold alone in the USA?It would be more interesting to compare the international album figures of both artists! MAKE LOVE NOT WAR

But Taylor's sales are definitely impressive. Album to album first 5 to first 5 studio albums. Why would anybody think that is her full discography? It's pretty clear; they are numbered in the order of release. As if Music and Ray Of Light could be left out of a full studio discography. Paper Planes 340
Yeah, she'll catch up. She's the most steady/consistent pop girl out there in terms of sales. She has yet to show a massive decay and still sells millions of physical/digital records while her contemporaries are lucky to hit one million with streaming. Madonna's inconsistent record sales per era are clear in the OP with the dip in sales for Erotica and Bedtime Stories. Some of her records do great, others do not. Taylor Swift has yet to deliver an album that album buyers don't love. delete it fat
Goldfish 579
Like Madonna, Rihanna, Katy, Britney, Xtina and Gaga, this is Taylers peak, she will not see this level of success again.... I invented post-its
Dominikko 355
If she stands the test of time, it's possible. Who cares about the units sold alone in the USA? It would be more interesting to compare the international album figures of both artists! If we're gonna compare WW sales, we already know the answer
JusKeepBreathin 19,311
Why not add the Immaculate collection , you can dance, I'm breathless and who's that girl? They all came before Erotica I guess you should just reread the topic for the answer to that question. I can tell by the pictures you're just kinda hating. I didn't include Taylor's holiday collection or live albums either only Studio to Studio album in the order they were released. Relax Taylor has a long way to go. No one saying she has already outsold Madonna. Also Britney's first five albums in the US are at 32.58 Million and I don't think she is ever going to catch up to Madonna. Longevity counts for a lot. LoveandMagic 1,731
Madonna is a legend but Taylor seems to be having a pretty steady stream of success. From what I have seen, she has continually outsold many of her peers and sales still seem to be on the rise. She's definitely at one of her peaks now and already so close.I think it really could happen. Just repeat to yourself, "It's just a show. I should really just relax."
