On the other hand, Gaga's lyrics tends to be more abstract and complex. They have double meanings, and they have artistic references. So in my opinion Gaga's work is more like poetry while Taylor's is more like telling a story. Gaga's lyrics just seem to have more work and thought put into them even if they are not appealing to most people. But still and for the most part, 1989 have poor lyrics compared to Taylor previous albums. And as a whole I still find ARTPOP better than 1989. OMG I'll say this again but you people are so dumb. It is absolutely imbecile to compare Gaga and Taylor because they compose and see music in a totally different way. Ok Gaga's lyrics have double meanings and half of the are incomprehensible. Wow. Amazing. So? does this mean that Taylor's lyrics are less good? No. Because you can't compare the two. Not when Ultraviolence has three good tracks and the rest are boring. :evil: I guess you could say the same about 1989. Having simple lyrics does not mean they are bad, but in Taylor's case, she over repeats choruses/words, and sings about the same thing she always does. She does not really expand her ideas. Some of those lyrics are just not very well put together either. Also, I am only comparing Taylor to Gaga, because this member responded me with a comparison between the two. Her previous releases built a massive hype and that lead single helped too. + her fans buying 10/20 copies is helping too. Congrats to her, but I'd just like to say that just because something is selling good doesn't mean it has the greatest quality. It's a fact.
