Racism should be compared to homophobia, not gay marriage lol ​Admin, I like you for this site & like you for being alive to give us somewhere to discuss human issues. but I have to disagree with you. You cannot call racism apple & oranges. Like I said before many people have DIED & when I say DIED i mean killed, burnt, tortured, skinned, beaten, robbed, chopped in pieces... just for the same rights as the white man. Gay marriage has not been through any of that and they never will be because they have someone in office fighting for them to be accepted. you know how long it too for african americans to get someone in office to fight for them? Racism dates back way more than homophobia or gay marriage ever will. & yes I am passionate about this stuff because I have many black friends who tell me about the issues of being black & I cry with them because I care. I always think "what if I or my family was in that situatuion" I would want someone there crying with me. someone who care about how I feel. & I GET THAT gay marriage is an issue... but TO ME again I say this TO ME.... Racism is something that will always be a bigger issue than gay marriage. i would like to PM you more about the situatuion but I doubt you would want to further this conversation. It's compketely hypocritical​Gay people pay the taxes in USA like the straight ones, it's their LEGAL right to have it, it's not a matter of belief. I said that they are two different subjects that cannot be pinned together. Just about in every one of your posts in previous pages of this thread. You were ranting about gay people never living on the streets, getting murdered, beat up and other ****. Discrimination is still discrimination. There is no "but they went through something worse so its more important than this" and vice versa. They're both still huge issues, so dont try to demean one for the other. You misunderstood me. I'm saying that you're comparing racism to gay marriage when it should be compared to homophobia. Of course racism is a much bigger issue than gay marriage. It's compketely hypocritical ​But it is discriminatory You're basically saying you don't believe in a class of people having the same rights that everyone does, unless you don't believe in marriage, both gay and straight And calling you out isn't not accepting your belief. You haven't really even stated your beliefs besides "ugh" and "I just don't believe in it" ​There are more homophobes than racists. It's seen as okay to be homophobic, or even right, a lot of the time. While, if somebody is racist they're looked down upon. ​Idk how you measured that and I'm not really sure I want to get into some competition for who has it worse, but PoC are still being denied rights all over. You could say the civil rights movement is more mature than the gay rights movement, but there are still loads of issues with both.
