Obama administration urges nationwide end to gay marriage bans

I'm not discrediting what they did, but because of what they did, race issues aren't that big, and that's a good thing. 2 people were just thrown off a building by ISIS recently for being gay.

and racism still continues even now. the work of getting rid of racism is an ongoing thing of present past and future. race is a huge thing TODAY TOMORROW YESTERDAY & FOREVER. on the other hand look at what is happening with gay marriage? it is becoming legal faster than racism will ever be defeated.

It's just my belief, I'm allowed to have it, I don't have to explain it to anyone

I'm not a homophobe. I know some gay people, and they're cool, I just don't believe in expressing gay acts

I'm not going to explain my belief any further, I'm allowed to have it

You sound very ignorant and you clearly don't know what are you talking about, it's not a matter of "belief", it's a matter of law and personal legal protection.

The marriage between gay people is for legal protection in first, not religious or related to any kind of beliefs, if a member of a gay couple die, as a human being has THE CIVIL and HUMAN RIGHT to have the possibility to left his money or properties to his partner, if he needs medical assistance the partner needs to have the possibility to visit him in Hospital as familiar member, there are a lot of gay people that don't have a family to support them in those situations.

This is why gay people want and need the LEGAL marriage, they are citizens that pay the taxes like the others, it's their right have it.

You are right about opinions... however I'd be curious as to why you don't accept it? Has the society you live in deemed it as unacceptable?

No, I live in America, and it's becoming more and more acceptable everyday, but that doesn't mean I have to accept it and vouch for it. That also doesn't mean I have to attack everyone who does believe in it. I've been on this site for 2 and a half years, and never have I attacked ANYONE for their orientation, but the first time I express my opinion, I'm attacked

Racism should be compared to homophobia, not gay marriage lol

In the U.S. gay people can't get married everywhere, I think that's more of an issue than a few racist people.

Nope, it's March 7, 2015 where I live, and people are allowed to have whatever opinion they want without being attacked by those who fight ever so valiantly for their opinion, when they can't acceot others' :)

People can have opinions and freely state them, just like people can also call out your opinion for being BS, it goes both ways :) No one has to let you bs slide (of course personal attacks aren't right) just because it's your opinion, especially when you can't even come up with meaningful arguments beside "I just don't like it, it's my opinion"

Frankly my dear, I don't give a damn

Discrimination isn't about competition though. I don't see how one group being more abused makes the other group not worthy of getting attention.

it isnt. but when a person says gay marriage is a bigger problem than racism? that come cow doodoo. gay marriage issue got traction litterally over 20 years ago while RACISM has been here since christopher colombus found america.

Because your opinion is based on ignorance, I am not attacking you, just stating that it's blatant ignorance lol

Of course you do, but a black person would also say the opposite thing about gay rights.

And while I understand you're trying to argue a point, you're replying to ignorance with even more ignorance of your own. No the race issues in the US is more than just "a few racist people" :air: It's still a huge concern

Dude why are you pretending that "ugh" is expressing opinion and that you didn't know what reaction would follow? You asked for it, now deal with it!

Yes, but when calling me out, they can't call me discriminatory when they can't acceot my belief. It's compketely hypocritical

There are more homophobes than racists. It's seen as okay to be homophobic, or even right, a lot of the time. While, if somebody is racist they're looked down upon.
