Loving this new album, best thing I have heard in a super long time!

The future's uncertain and the end is always near.

Does the box set vinyl include the bonus songs?

I believe so. Mine should be arriving today.

So according to the LanaNow twitter (Used to be LanaBoards) there are two unheard songs of Lana's called "Fine China" and "Yes To Heaven". They're both produced by Rick Nowels. They're either old songs, Ultraviolence leftovers, or songs written for some future Lana release. I don't consider LanaNow all that reliable but ya https://twitter.com/LanaNow/status/483671732218499072

The Good Sis Gags will leak them, since she is unable to leak her own unreleased music :hor:

Batwings

So my much anticipated box set arrived today.

Thoughts:

Hm. In retrospect, I don't know if I would have ordered it or not.

-- The box itself is pretty sturdy and well-made. However, while the lettering is black, it isn't foil as it was originally advertised. Also, a corner of the box got dinged up pretty badly during shipping, but it is what it is.

-- The 12"x12" pictures are meh. They're not even glossy, just card stock. Also, the mistake in the Ultraviolence lyrics is just... :fail:

-- The CD is the deluxe edition, so no need to go into any depth about that.

-- The gatefold sleeve for the vinyl is horribly made. The material is too thin to hold the thick, heavy discs, and so the sleeve is already splitting apart at the seams.

-- The picture discs are pretty, but they don't feature any pictures of Lana. Just closeups of flowers. I know that's how they were pictured on the website, but if you recall the BTW picture disc box set, before it was shipped out, the website used mock-ups of what the discs might or might not look like, so I thought this case might be the same.

Overall:

If it had been cheaper, I don't think I would have minded so much, but for $100, I kind of expected the quality to be a bit better.

This album is making me crazy :spin:

I really love it but I think I still have a little problem with Sad Girl :spin:

These lyrics for some reason always make me think they originally belonged to the song Ride, and that she decided to scrap them, and then made them into another song (Cola) :emma:

"Come on, baby, let's ride
We can escape to the great sunshine.
I know your wife, and she wouldn't mind
We made it out to the other side [3x]
Come on, come on
Come on, come on
Come on, baby."

And the fact that she only says Cola in the "my *** tastes like pepsi cola" intro and when its sung in the background around the ending,

Nevertheless, its my favorite Lana song :lana:

No. She wrote Ride with music/producing legend Rick Rubin. Cola was written with an entirely different producer.
