Desperado 2,439
Out of the three songs we've heard so far I like this one best but they all sound like subpar Born To Die rejects to me :/none of the songs sound like BTD.
gagaisitalian 3,573
Hello :) There is a Lana Del Rey Concert on 20 June in Berlin. Does anyone know how I can possibly meet her at the airport or how I can meet her like other fans? I am thankful for any help. Most fans meet her at her shows. Acid 1
Absolutely fantastic. She is a true star, an inspiration! I love how she so (kind of) easily moved away from the more contemporary sound of BTD into a psychadelic-rock, jazzy queen. This album is gonna change the game. Addy Ezzie 2
Hey guys. Very big LDR fan here! Are you all enjoying UV? Hey ! Welcome to GGD I absolutely LOVE Ultraviolence. Helix 1,487
I've been listening to Ultraviolence all day and I think what she's saying in the background near the end is "Take me down to the lighthouse, treat me here in the moonlight" That's at least what im hearin'
n0ne 13,105
Ultraviolence has restored/enchanced my excitement for the album. It has elements from West Coast and the material from Born to Die and Paradise. It's the only song from the album so far that has had immediate impact on me like the songs from Born to Die and Paradise. "My people… need to let our bitchiness out. Otherwise, it turns to bile and poisons us"
Helix 1,487
I just feel like all Lana songs are meant to be done in a more live setting because I mean: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5VYisMaggXM This just enhances the song Born To Die so much for me, I'll never get over this

SS77 2,077
I do miss the shrill/airy high register that she used to display on Born to Die and the rest of the songs on it. She doesn't really do the airy effect anymore. If that makes sense. Take a look at the chorus during performances of Born to Die nowadays compared to ones back then. She does it all in full voice now, which does make her sound more powerful instead of the delicate falsetto of the studio version. However, I felt that the airy falsetto from the first album was very unique and it saddens me they she hasn't done it that much recently. Does anyone else understand where I'm coming from or am I just typing gibberish? xD Do you guys think it's just a personal preference of her's or could it be, for example, an effect from her smoking habits?
