Why does it sound like Shades of Cool is unfinished?  :noparty:

The songs on Ultraviolence are supposed to have a much lower level of production than the previous two. Lana said so herself. Which worries me, because I like very little of her unreleased/unfinished demos.

However, I lived for the orchestra-soaked goodness on Born to Die and Paradise, which is going to be noticeably absent on Ultraviolence, which is going for a more 1960s rock/blues-based sound rather than the interesting mix of 1950s orchestra flairs and hip-hop-esque beats of Born to Die.

I do feel like I will love Ultraviolence though. I feel like the verses will be the portions of the songs that sound the most minimally produced, with the choruses and bridges (as described in the description of "Shades of Cool") being the explosions of sound, as heard in "West Coast"

I'm certain that the snippets we've heard are of the verses, so don't worry.
