I just personally would never do this with another man. I feel like it'd be hard on the kid. Not any more than adopting. Or using a surrogate. Or having kids in any other way. The only way this could be more hard on a kid than any other way is if the kid finds it devastating to be blood related to both of his/her parents. Which would be a little weird.
