And I don't see what Gaga did as ripping Madonna off anyway. She took inspiration from the song, this is what artist's do. They listen to music that inspires them and they style their own art on what influences them. Madonna doesn't get that because she doesn't seem to "get" art. But in all honesty I've loved that Madonna song all my life and I have never noticed any similarities to BTW. Some people claim Madonna ripped portions of "Express Yourself" off from the song "Respect Yourself" by "The Staple Singers" (especially the refrain). I'm against Madonna b---hiness but Madonna is a living legend I never understood Madonna's legendary status. I grew up in the 70s and 80s. All my friends and I were obsessed with MJ, Prince, the Queen, AC/DC, Go-Go's, The Bangles, Blondie, Bruce Springsteen, Stevie Knicks, Cyndi Lauper, Joan Jett, etc etc, and none of us were fans of Madonna, simply b/c there was MUCH better music out there. Hmmmmmm Madonna was sued several times by other artists for plagiarism. It's kind of ironic that she felt "Born This Way" was a "rip-off". Madonna always loved Gaga before that song happened, but I would like to see her plan that will make this all go away and cease to be mentioned, as I love both ladies. All I can say is, we shall see what happens in the future and of Little Monsters opinions, when some new artist rips off a favorite Gaga song, say Bad Romance. Tides would for sure change then, and I would also make it known that the song was ripped off and act accordingly.
