Ronk 14,767
Lady Gaga isn't her wild outfits, Lady Gaga isn't her wigs, Lady Gaga isn't her number ones, Lady Gaga isn't her success. To the real fans, Lady Gaga is her passion, her talent, and her artistry. This is exactly how I feel. I live outside the space time continuum. NotherClub365 105
Wow, Bravo indeed. You eloquently summed up all of my feelings about the last couple of days. You're right, even if you normally don't care about the perceptions of her success, the amount of noise surrounding the status of her career could make being a Gaga stan painful at times. I've been ride-or-die for this woman since like November of 2008, and while watching her ascension was a thrilling a dizzying experience, there has definitely been a hangover after her explosion onto the scene. And I think we're finally seeing the tide turn. Things will start to stabilize. I've always believed that her career's backlash was a result of her getting SO big SO fast, leading people to believe she was a fad or a flash in the pan, and not giving them the time to inspect her "talent credentials." We're over that hump now, and I honestly believe with every fiber of my being that Gaga's greatest success has yet to come. Even with this site has frustrated me, this reminds me of why I appreciate having somewhere to come and share my appreciation and respect for this woman, her passion and her talent. Gaga has endured this whole period with strength and grace, and I'm so happy for her right now. She deserves this and so much more. The best is yet to come. Paws up. Now that people finally know she's not just a brainless auto-tuned pop starlet, now that even the GP acknowledges that she can sing, things surely will get better. Just thinking about it gives me chills And Paws up, too
LoveandMagic 1,731
Before ARTPOP, I was just someone who liked her hits. I liked her past eras, but not enough for me to be a stan. For some reason, I joined Littlemonsters.com, and I thought it was fun---how the fans would express their artistry because of this woman, how they would let out the creative beasts inside them, and how they would make fun of her not out of hate, but out of their adoration for her. One day I was online, and I saw that the next album was gonna be called ARTPOP. I wasn't excited, I just thought, 'okay'. Then there was a blackout. It was hard. There were no hits. No music videos to look at, no top tens to bop to. (Yes, back then I was that basic.) But even with Lady Gaga suddenly gone, the Littlemonsters were still alive. They were still there for her, and then I got curious. "What was with this Lady that they love so much?" I asked myself. Was it the mystery? Was it the fashion? The wigs? The makeup? The music? The success? I listened to The Fame and The Fame Monster and then Born This Way. I then watched all her videos, and looked at some of her performances. Then I found the answer; It wasn't any of those things that got them to love her that much. It wasn't just the success, not just the makeup, not just the hits. Maybe it was the fashion and the music---but what it really was was the artistry and the passion that this woman had. The artistry and the passion behind all of those things altogether, and that's what turned me into a 'stan'. That's what made me love her.To the real fans, Lady Gaga isn't her wild outfits, Lady Gaga isn't her wigs, Lady Gaga isn't her number ones, Lady Gaga isn't her success. To the real fans, Lady Gaga is her passion, her talent, and her artistry. That's why we're still here for her even when she's just sitting naked on a piano and singing her ass off, even when the world is against her. Because that's the woman we love. We went through a sh*tstorm, Littlemonsters, because even though some of us don't care about the charts, it's the bullying from other stanbases and from the media that makes it worse. Everyone saying she was over and not having anything to use in defending her was the worst. But we're still here. Together. And now some of the fakes may comeback, and that's alright. They love her again, woohoo. But for us, there's no 'again.' They love her. We love her, and that's it. We'll be with her through a ****storm, and we'll be with her through the calm. So brace yourselves, the worst is over. I think we all have that good feeling about what's coming. I'm nervous, but also happy. So let's hold hands, and love Gaga. It was true. The hybrid did withstand all those things. And all through it, her heart never stopped beating, even with bricks and strings. *but tbh the past few months helped me appreciate Gaga even more also, go ahead and buy all of Gaga's albums for me. There aren't any record stores where I live and so I had to do something I shouldn't do to listen to it Sorry gags Here's some shameless FROOT promo https://itunes.apple.com/us/album/froot/id936941140 And I almost forgot, PAWS UP Lovely post! I came in right at the beginning of her "decline." I was a hater before. I thought she was overexposed and I had only heard a few of her hits and saw the meat dresses and crazy outfits and didn't think they warranted all the worship and praise. I didn't research her so of course later when I did I discovered her passion and gave her music a second chance. She really sets herself apart and that's why I Stan for her out of all the others. It's not just the clothes and elaborate set ups (how many basic pop stars have that, like how hard is it to get a really good team to create all that for you?), or even the fact that she writes a lot of her music (again, how many claim to do the same?), it's that when she speaks, sings, and performs that you really SEE and HEAR it. It's hard to describe, but there is such a personal, distinctly Gaga/Stefani quality shown through her work. There's also clear respect for the field itself. This isn't about just the fame and money, or about thumping her chest about all her number one's and measuring her self worth by chart hits. It's about expression, love, and hunger. And she is so versatile. She's so eager to push herself. She doesn't want to be just another super pop star. She wants to work with legends in all genres, not just be a frequent radio persona. Just repeat to yourself, "It's just a show. I should really just relax."
