Look the separatists are still Ukrainian whether they like it or not. It's not right that just because they want to form part of Russia a chunk of Ukraine becomes Russian. Imagine a group of Russian sympathisers in London or something decide they want to be separate and make London a part of Russia. It's insane. If they want to form part of Russia they should just up and leave. Ukraine belongs to the Ukraine not Putin.

the question is why do they want to be russian. or a better question why do they not want to be ukranian to the point they are willing to risk death i order to separate? and why is this a matter the west has to be involved with? i'm not taking any sides here or saying the west shouldnt intervene in some way i'm just uninformed as to why.

I disapprove of what you say, but will defend to the death your right to say it.

I don't know and you know why it doesn't matter? Because that land belongs to Ukraine, separatists do not have the right to just make it Russian. If they want to be Russian they can always emigrate to Russia instead of stealing sovereign land. From what I understand they prefer to be part of Russia than to sympathise with the West/EU. That's their prerogative but that does not give them the right to steal sovereign land. Their whole agenda is appalling.

i really dont think its that easy for thay many people to up and move from their homes and if they maybe feel as though the ukraine shouldnt exist in the first place that could be another reason for them to want to maybe take the land back and restore it to russia. is it right? nope, but i'm not concerned with whether they're right or not really. i'm just wondering what their motives are.

revolutions are a bloody mess and for them to take place whether right or wrong there has to be something very ****ed up in a country. i'm wondering what it is about the ukraine government that they dont like enough to die in order to change it.

just leaving your own country also seems like to simple a solution and they're obviously not taking that route and chosen the tougher route of rebellion. i'm just wondering why would they feel this choice was the correct one since it always seems like it should be last resort.

and what % of the population even supports the rebellion/separation. gotta know that as well because the extreme minority can hold the peaceful majority hostage. we should have a big thread made by someone who actually can answer our questions. admin's russian and closest to the conflict, where you at kirill :crossed:

I did say how they don't like how the new Ukrainian government is West/EU-leaning while the previous President (whom Ukrainians protested against) was pro-Russia. The separatists do not like the EU nor do they want to become more liberal.

so is it economic reasons the US and EU are involved or is it a police the world type of thing where they're just doing it because its wrong and thats it? and why is putin involved? expanding russian sphere of influence?

i think there is probably more to it rather than just "we hate western influence" but i could be wrong. boko haram is pretty much that,  but they have religion driving that trainwreck.

SleepingSun

If there is one thing Europe doesn't need, it's even more Putin followers. Ugh!
