MahoganySnitch 67
"this area is black" Why are they just segregating things off by colour again, we're in the 21st century and this is the UK It's hardly a new thing, though-when you say ghetto in the U.S. (and maybe in the UK too, I'm guessing), it's clear what image comes up. I guess it's a de facto/informal discrimination: there's an implicit knowledge of which neighborhood is what, and which one is sketchy, safer, etc. I wonder what Willenhall's stats are like? Redstreak 6,653
It's okay because she hasn't gotten as much racism as them probably. ^the logic of some people. Waits for someone to quote me saying "HAHA OF COURSE AN IGGY AZALEA FAN WOULD SAY THAT!!!111!!!11!!" I'm not quoting you because you're an Iggy fan, but because you show a pretty clear lack of understanding on the "argument" you're trying to strawman. Take a moment to think of just flexibility, love, and trust~

Goosey 3,017
Isn't that in the UK though? Is it supposed to be a bad joke? Willy Wonka 4
And there are people that say black people can't be racist. That argument is my favorite. It's such an interesting argument and I suggest you read up on it, because it's actually a very arguable position when you understand it, even though it sounds unfathomable when you take it at face value. I'd absolutely argue that we don't know if blacks or really any people of color can be racist. We only know that white people can be racist. I recommend Lauryn Hill's famous blog piece where she discusses this idea. It's amazingggggg. Here it is: http://mslaurynhill.com/post/53975118543/mlh-on-racism But this is really a disgusting act of race-based prejudice. I'm avoiding the word "racism" here because the argument I identify above depends on a specific definition of "racism". No one deserves to be terrorized based upon their race. I've rarely in my life read such a racist thing... I can't take you serious right now. So you think that people of any race can't be racist? We only know that white people can be racist? Didn't you read that article? Seriously? What kind of white-hating person are you? Look up the genocide of Tutsis by Hutus. Those tribes may both be black, but you can still speak here of "racism". What about the Armenian genocide which was did by Ottomans? That one was directed against White people. Should I hate myself because I was born White or what? Such a shame on me, my horrible ancestors (which never were racist, actually died in the holocaust ) I accept White Privilege, but at some point this stupid white-shaming should stop. Not all white people in the world are like some in the USA.

"Of course there are white people who live transcendent lives, not exploiting ill-gotten privilege or perpetuating the sins of their ancestors who used violence and deceit as a means to gain advantage over others." Yeah because every white people as colonialist as ancestors and of course all of them were racist The majority of Central and Eastern Europe didn't even had a colonial empire :air:

I'm avoiding the word "racism" here because the argument I identify above depends on a specific definition of "racism". No one deserves to be terrorized based upon their race. The biggest problem with Lauryn's argument is that most white "racism" as of 2015 is not "racist" in her special sense. Nowdays white hostility to other races is often just as reactive as black racism and neither need make any claim to superiority. A xenophobic desire for foreigers with alien ways to stay out of your neighbourhood makes no claim to superiority, and works the same for both races. A European can hate Moslims for reactive reasons, because they conquered his country historically (Serbia, Greece) or because some of them hate us (Jews, gays, women in western dress in their area).
