Should Gaga release a Greatest Hits compilation before LG5?

Everybody seems to be warming up to her again after Cheek to Cheek, the Grammys and the engagement, and the press hate seems to have finally died down (except for that random HuffPo article).

If she released a Greatest Hits album like six months before the next album, it would remind people that she has a really good catalogue full of bops and amazing songs that they love but have kind of forgotten. She should put in her singles, a couple of remixes and one or two new tracks to tease what's coming next.

Some GH albums have become iconic and done a lot of good. Madonna has The Immaculate Collection. Britney has My Prerogative. Christina has Keeps Getting Better :sis:

I know that because of contracts and sh*t this probably won't happen but imo it could be a really good step in the right direction.

no. maybe in 10 years but not yet. She needs more time to create more albums full of hits so that she can do a big 20+ track album full of her hit singles and some outtakes

There's only 5 albums (if you count CtC) and not enough hits to do a 'Greatest Hits'

Lady Gaga's career is to 'young' to do a 'Greatest Hits'. Maybe in 10-15 years, when she'll hopefully get plenty more hit songs in her discography...

This could be interesting (with few brand new traks on it) but later in her career....

Though after next solo album and next jazz album she could make a break and release an album full of unreleased songs from her previous albums..

My Prerogative was released seven years into Britney's career, with four studio albums behind her and The Immaculate Collection was also released seven years into Madonna's career with also four studio albums behind her. Gaga is also seven years into her career if you start counting since Just Dance and has three LPs and one EP (not counting CTC), so they're roughly in the same situation. But nobody seems to like the idea lol.

I consider it a full album too, but technically speaking TFM is an EP. I said that to make the difference between artists with four full length albums and Gaga who has three full length and an EP

I like the idea, honestly I hope she'll release a 'Greatest Hits' one day (with few unrealeased songs on it)

But to me it's just too soon, you quoted Britney or Madonna, but they had many more hit songs than Lady Gaga in their first seven years...

Gaga has hits of course but her last huge smashing hit is BTW... To me her career is too 'fragile' nowadays to re-release old things. She needs to return with brand new material to smash again. Releasing a 'Greatest Hits' now would be seen as a desperate move to sell her old songs...

To me she has to get another smashing album with big hits songs on it before doing this. Though I definitely like the idea of releasing this king of album one day !
