liz89 373
working with Jeff Koons is a pretty big deal. He tends to only make sculptures of Michael Jackson and.... Oh yeah Lady Gaga. She had the most famous and successful artists of our age design her album cover, create a sculpture of her and allow her to use his Gazing Ball. That sort of endorsement is incredible. Elton is a legend, I know she has performed with him before but it isn't something to take lightly. Having her work with Robert Wilson displayed in The Louvre might just be the greatest honour she has ever received in her career. She really achieved new heights during ARTPOP, it just doesn't look that way if you have confined her purely into a pop star. It's not like a #1 record was a complete disaster of an album either, it isn't her greatest performance and it can definitely be considered an underperformance for her standards. You could call ARTPOP a failure, to be fair the management was very messy, but only if you consider her career in the same way you would Katy Perry's. It seems bizarre that somebody created a flying dress, was featured in The Louvre, worked with Jeff Koons and filmed at Hearst Castle and people think that they are doing poorly because they didn't have a #1 song on the Billboard charts like Katy. cool365 347
Gagsus is coming to not only save Pop music, but humanity as well. Let's pray they accept her Aura and godliness this time around instead of be scared of it/trash it/reject it a la the masterpiece that is ARTPOP. Guest
I don't like voting in polls like this because I feel like I'm going to jinx things. I really hope she does. I honestly believe she has the talent and potential to out-peak The Fame Monster/early Born This Way days.

Chrish 0
I know these kind of threads are pointless bla bla bla.. But seriously.. I feel like she is getting HUGE again. She performed on Grammys and she is going to perform at the oscars too. She won a grammy. She looks prettier than ever. Media love her again and only say positive things about her and her performances. I thought of it in school when over 20 people asked me if I knew that Gaga is marrying. :haha: So what do you think ? Same!!!

I agree with all of this, but to be honest, I feel like most of the people of "this age" (as in our generation) didn't know who Koons was until Gaga brought him on board
HauntingHollow 4,310
She's just having a good month. Let's not set ourselves up for disappointment. It is, though. Yes, she's getting a lot of press for the engagement, but even without that, there's the one-two-three punch of Grammy / Salute / Oscar performances. The Oscars will be a big deal -- huge ratings, and she'll stand out much more as one of the few performers. hm, to me it feels that people are taking pity on her You can not hide if nobody pays attention to you :*
boysboysboys 278
Not yet. The side-effect of this newfound fame is she's becoming a little basic, which shows in the one-dimensional kind of media she's had lately. Plus the drama with her contemporaries and her inability to compose as effectively as she did... all these problems have not yet been solved fully She needs to deal with them before we cans say she's on top again and ready to slay. Creyk 17,819
Being in top, as in being a dominating force in Pop music again? I think she will obviously try very hard with her next album, but we can't know if she will slay - I hope she will, since she finally reunited with RedOne and it seems like he may be the executive producer of the album....Gaga should never let him go, they work so well together. (specially SHICD, Scheiße) Honestly I think her success depends on how much of this "unconventional rebel" mindset she will be in next time, will she finally do things right or messes everything up just for the sake of being different

All of these things happened because of the strength of her previous eras, they would have happened regardless of how ARTPOP was handled. ARTPOP taken on it's own didn't add anything to her legacy, it's a footnote in her career. Cheek to Cheek has been a much bigger era and has actually taken her to new heights in the industry.
