Sounds like the writer is a pop listener who doesn't know much about rap and just felt like sharing his least favourite songs that has a rap verse he likes. I pretty much disagree with all of it.

:awkney: List tbh. Katy songs sounds so much better with the rapper tbh. They aren't even the contributing factor to their success. If anything, Kanye, sounds random as fück on ET. Juicy J's part was also unnecessary, Katy herself sounds amazing in the whole song. Cali Girl was the only time I think a rapper feat is great. But let's be honest, who even rap their parts? Everyone is too busy singing Katy's part to even notice the rappers. The person that wrote this article is truly bias.

E.T. :rip:

Juicy J in Dark Horse :rip: He's the reason it didn't sell more :rip:

Big Sean on As Long As You Love Me :rip:

The only one I agree with is Beauty And A Beat

They went IN on Katy :awkney:

I can maybe get behind California Gurls being on the list, because I think it's one of her weaker songs. But E.T. and Dark Horse? I mean, I like the raps on those songs, but E.T. album version is just as good, and Dark Horse is good all the way around imo.

I either am neutral about this list or don't agree. Some of these raps provided nothing or outright ruined the songs. I don't know if a rap verse has ever saved a bad pop song, but I think some have certainly added something to good songs that could have been missing before. I'd consider these to be:

Madonna - Revolver feat. Lil Wayne

Christina Aguilera - My Girls feat. Peaches

Alicia Keys - Girl On Fire feat. Nicki Minaj

Lady Gaga - Do What U Want feat. R. Kelly (if that counts as a rap)

Justin Beiber - PYD feat. R. Kelly (same as above)

The ET opinion is a lie :bye:

If anything Kanye makes the song worse with those cringey verses, which are probably some of the worst he's ever written. "Tell me what's next, alien s-x, Ima disrobe you, then Ima probe you" :smh:

The song is much, much better without him on it.

Frankly my dear, I don't give a damn

I prefer California Gurls without the rap, but I have the Juicy J version of Dark Horse on my phone. It just feels more complete with the rap. Out of all the radio stations around here that play DH (all of them that aren't oldies :P), only one plays it with Juicy J. All the others edit it out. The Juicy J version also starts with that "Oh NOOOO" at the beginning of the song which I love and all the radio edits remove.  :toofunny:

Stupid list.

ET sounds better without Kanye, i mean the bridge of the original song was cut just for that lame rap verse. :eww:

Dark Horse is obviously better without that irrelevant rapper, wtf vh1? :usrs:

And most of all Snoop Lion, Snoop Zilla, Snoop Dog, Snoop Monkey, Pig, Rat or whatever his family name is, he is a boring rapper so how could he save CG? VHflop indeed. :smh:

There's only one song from that list which I could somehow agree with, and that's Rihanna's "Numb" with Eminem. He added more value to the song, but both of their parts were pretty forgettable anyway, unlike the other songs mentioned here. I mean the rest of this list could stand alone even without the featured rappers. For instance, Payphone, one of the world's best-selling digital singles of all time (and one of the most covered songs online), is almost universally recognized and remembered as a stand-alone Maroon 5 song, based on the countless covers on YouTube. Most, if not all, skip, whether intended or not, Wiz's part. I couldn't even remember his part at all despite Payphone being my most played song in 2012. If Wiz "saved" that pop song, I should've heard a hundred covers singing only his part. But that was never the case. Same with the rest.

Anyway, here are some of the songs which I think the featured rappers actually made them sound better:

Jennifer Lopez's I'm Real (Remix) feat. Ja Rule
Nelly Furtado's Promiscuous feat. Timbaland
And that's it.

Oh, and this one too! I agree with Revolver. I always forget it, but Lil Wayne definitely made that song more bearable to my ears. He's so good that I wished he recorded it all by himself.
