She'll most likely sing a tribute song and look fab on the carpet and have great selfies. Basically grammys 2.0 but the oscars are a much bigger deal and will almost seal the envelope of her rebranding

This is reminding me of Madonna. She performed at the Oscars when she was 7 years into her career too. And she dressed classy and sang a classy song, which Gaga will likely be doing. Let's hope this is a good sign of what the future holds. The Oscars don't let just any flash in the pan singer perform, so they must have a feeling that she's going to be around a long time.

It's really possible she could perform TIHTY, since they brought the release date of the film closer. but idk

Valextra and Bad Monster Kid are on point.  This is the Oscars, monsters.  Lady Gaga doesn't call the shots.  Even though a very-soon-to-be-released novella starts with a male stripper dancing to Lady Gaga's new single, "Sexxx Dreams", it is fiction.  In the real world, the Oscars invites you to do something that is their idea, not hers.

Who was it that predicted she'd be singing at the Oscars?  Hmmm...

Doesn't anyone find it suspicious she's doing so much promo to make sure she is exposed to the public

If the album wasn't coming until 2016 like some people say then why would she bother?

She is doing what Beyoncè did, rebuilding her image to make sure people are here for her next era

This is exactly what I was thinking. It's the best way for her to make a big comeback in the industrie

I find it really hard to tell if the appearances and looks lately are just fitting in with C2C era or strategically re-positioning Gaga to legend-status TIMELESS performer who isn't about crazy looks and gimmicks.

Both --- C2C was clearly part of the rebranding and it's that which is opening a lot of doors for her

I think it's going to be something "The Sound of Music" related.

- The movie was released in 1965, making this year it's 50th anniversary.

- She's working/rehearsing with Craig Zadan and Neil Meron (also producing the Oscars) who also created/produced "The Sound of Music Live!" together starring Carrie Underwood in 2013 - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Sound_of_Music_Live!

- They are also working with Stephen Oremus who is an American musician who has worked on Broadway theatre productions as a musical director and as an orchestrator.

- It seems as though part of the show could possibly be a tribute to Broadway - with Neil Patrick Harris hosting, Jennifer Hudson performing (In January it was announced that Hudson would be making her Broadway debut as Shug Avery in a revival of The Color Purple) and Anna Kendrick performing (she starred in the recent film adaptation of the Broadway musical Into The Woods, which is nominated for three Academy Awards).
