Thats not true. That being said, its not that its overrated. But shes not the only artist that made an album worthy of being album of the year and the music world, contrary to popular delusional belief, does not revolve around Beyonce. I think shes dope and she made a dope album, had she won it would've been deserved. But shes not the only contemporary artist in the categories she was nominated in that deserved a win.

I think what you said is entirely true, but the album is pretty seen as "overrated" on here (GGD) for some reason (maybe because a lot of people like it and they assume others are only liking it because #bandwagon-- some of the same people saying its overrated were people who liked it when it came out too :emma: )

Its not like its just a fan favorite. It's critically acclaimed for a lot of reasons OTHER than its surprise release and i think a lot of people are tired of it getting flack that isn't  substantiated or backed up.

Beck deserved the win even if I personally find Beyonce to be a better product.

THIS is the delusion that annoys me. Where on this ****ing earth do you hear Beyonce getting a lot of flack? Where? Shes universally praised by most and put on this incredibly high golden pedestal and worshipped disturbingly as if shes a god and if she gets the most insignificant amount of criticism her fans blow it out of proportion and try to silence whoever dare bothers to criticize her. Its like....I like Beyonce, she made her best album hands down. But anyone that says she gets flack or too much flack when she literally gets like 0.005% of negative attention need a slap in the face.

Its because people think that the whole shock release campaign and a bunch of lazily done videos overshadowed the actual quality of the music which should matter the most in this industry.

How is what I said delusional? :air: "slap in the face" :sweep: And thats obviously not true. There are die hard beyonce haters on this website and ive met plenty of them both in real life and on other forums. Just because a general or popular opinion might ironically idolize her (or legitimately, lol) doesn't make her "universally praised" or even close. LOTS of people hate beyonce, the way LOTS of people hate Gaga.

I didn't say she gets too much flack, and i dont really care at all whether or not people put her on a pedestal, people always put their faves on SOME sort of pedestal for the record...

I'm personally more concerned with people giving baseless opinions repeatedly without ever clarifying what they mean. Its fine to have an opinion, and its fine to state it, but i dont think it makes much sense to argue it if you don't even ever define it as more than a broad statement in an eclipsing, "im right, you are wrong" way. Thats a much bigger topic than Beyonce or one album.

I legit hadn't heard a single beyonce album until this album came out. I'd hardly say im a fan. Please don't attack people for posing good points because you assume they have biased intentions without even knowing the person :sweep:

But its music and thematic elements are what are constantly praised about the album over and over and over. The album and some of the songs made many best of lists at the end of 2014, a whole year after release because contrary to what many here think, the actually quality of the album backed up the hype behind the release. I actually heavily disliked the album when it came out because it was all anyone could talk about and it annoyed me to no end and I never gave it a real chance. But then when she performed the full album medley at the VMA's after all the hype died down, I saw why it was so widely talked about. It's a damn good album with sonically dark beats and heavy base lines juxtaposed with minimalistic RnB, with explosive themes of monogamy, marital fears, doubts, raising a child, how love conquers all, and how motherhood does not mean the end of one's s-xual life. Not to mention each song came with its own unique video with the same quality some can only put into one video. Beyonce garnered the widespread praise it received because it deserved it.

Take a moment to think of just flexibility, love, and trust~

I actually think there are like 4 superb songs, the others are good or average. I just question Bey´s artistic input after hearing how her team collects almost whole songs and ideas from unknown writers and producers. I remember reading an interview  with Ghost´s author how he was personally inspired for the different aspects of the lyrics. On the other hand Beck is the only producer and writer of his great album.  But if we go just for the best album as the whole, not caring abour the real Beyonce´s artistry, then I agree that Beyonce (album) should win.

It's true tho.

BEYONCE's album changed the game with how albums can be released. It placed the importance back onto the albums. Lately every other artist has been only about the hit singles, they forget the singles are actually to sell the actual entire album.

Plus the idea of a visual album and having a video for each and every song, not to mention how beautiful the videos were individually, BEYONCE deserved AOTY.

What did Morning Phase bring to the game?

I hope he realizes there is a difference between his opinion and the Grammys committee's opinion, and it is the latter that counts.

Sure he has a right to share his opinion, but I hope understands the cost of sharing it  :flop:
