Valextra 58 Posted February 2, 2015 Share Posted February 2, 2015 Germany's (and all other Eurozone countries, remember that Greece owes Spain and Italy together more money than Germany) intention was to save their own asses, considering Greece was broke and nobody wanted to give them money besides the IMF (in limited amounts). If Greece went out of the Eurozone in 2012, the situation would've been way worse. Now the Eurozone can handle Greece leaving the Eurozone, but not other countries like Italy or Spain. If it wasn't for the Eurozone's help, Greece would basically be bankrupt. Accurate. I'm not entering in the whole argument or point fingers about who is in wrong or in right because is not easy give a judgement (there are a lot of economical points that we are not able to discuss in here and that we don't know), but the bold parts are true, in here they're talking about this situation. Italy is the third Greece's creditor with 40 billions, Spain the fourth with 26 billions. (Germany 60, France 46). It is a good thing for the EU to have one strong leader as Merkel. In ten years it will be someone else from antoher country...Are we gonna hate for example Italy in that case?? How is he far right? He doesn't say immigrants out etc. He even said that he supports a federal Europe. A far right person wouldn't say that. Mess. Learn something about politics and about the aims of parties. I personally live with 400-500 € a month in a city with high rents and I'm able to survive. I'm not a highly supporter of austerity, but I don't see why money should go to Greece without getting in back And you can be against austerity and Syriza. The things is that the greek debt is impossible to pay in the same way that the deb of Germany was impossible to pay in the past. Europe is a big community and the most powerful country should not oppress the one with problems they should and have to help them. You can offended by what you want, and I can too. And it offends me when people kill herself because they loose her home, when the only source of money of a hole family is the pension of the grandfathers. It offends me when a entire continent is ruled by the president of one country. Europe hast lost nearly 10 years fighting a crisis with the wrongs weapons. Merkel want us to fight a dragon with a wooden sword. We all know that nothing good happens when you sink a country in debt. Thats why the Treaty of Versailles was good, and Europe now needs another. That'd save their and our asses. Undemocratic and against the EU's laws, probably. But what Greece wants also is. was the money a direct transfer tho or was it tradiotional bond purchases? If it was traditional bond purchases they will always pay back to avoid default... They cant just not pay it back. Its a part of the over-all government bond market now If it was just lent money not through bonds as it typically is tho, then it is a more slipery slope when they start talking like that PS: waiting for my pickup bus. Germany is not as great as people think but they carry the EU. England must be so happy they have pounds because EU has flopped. I live in Canada and while we didn't have a recession the world did, we are facing one now. Geroge Bush was a war criminal who took down his country and the world with his war and violence crazed antics. Other countries suffered and still do for it. Obama may not be my president but I support Obama as a man and leader, George was a child and Hillary is a leader Canada had jack layton and now we have Justin btw VOTE for a real leader Justin. all this will end before people attack me I have visited many of these countries as a student and seen their cultures. I bare no prejudice. Just a desire for the free world to be for everyone and countries to progressJustin Trudeau? Hes never been a leader how do u know hes any good? Plus theres nothing that special about his supposed plans Altho id still take him over Thomas Mulcair any day cuz his answer to every problem is raise taxes especially on the rich. Also hes so stupid he doesnt even understand that more ppl working would increase economic activity as more ppl earn money and soend more (more production and consumption) and actually help the labor market.
