elijahfan 26,202
Actually, if you realise, most of gaga things were connected to rape, BR video, Monster,Alejandro, Do what u want song and video along with other videos, photos and songs. Right. Looking back at TFM, that we all know is about the darker side of fame experienced by Gaga, I've come across many references that didn't necessarily catch my attention a few years ago. gagzus 15,889
I think although we know she was raped, you guys are reading WAY TOO MUCH into some old lyrics tbh. I think it's basically about being drunk and having s-x with someone over and over, not remembering if you've had s-x or not bc of the alcohol and then her starting to fall for the guy in the no-strings-attached s-x tbh. Hence the BGVox saying "could i love him?"
COLONiCPRiNXESS 1
I'm not sure it does imply that. She says "I wanna just dance, but he took me home instead". The only lyric that doesn't really support the whole rape theory is "We french-kissed on a subway train." Would she really be doing that if she wasn't consenting? Then again it also implies she's so drunk that she can't remember if they slept together, so there's also that. I wouldn't say that's exactly rape though. Don't a lot of people get sh*t-faced and not remember if they slept with someone/who they've slept with, etc. ?
bigpinkenergy 1,015
Possibly but I think it's more just having a one night stand with a bad guy, like judas is about having a relationship with a bad guy etc etc, maybe she's referring to both of these at once who knows

Jesse Pinkman 4,660
When Gaga said that she has been raped, I think Just Dance is about rape also I've heard this before. People say that Colbie plays her rapist in the song. :rip: It's science, bitch

Hence the BGVox saying "could i love him?" The thing about Gaga's lyrics, especially in the TF/TFM days, is they came with layers. Back during that time she said: "music should be just as powerful if you drink it shallow as if you drink it deep." Monster is a song that fits that. Drink it shallow, and it's a song about drunk s-x or a one-night stand. Dig a little deeper and you realize she's referring to date rape. Knowing what we know now, it's clear the song also references Gaga being raped. View it as a metaphor and it fits the theme of The Fame: Monster regarding the dark sides of Fame. Hence, why it was chosen as the title track. Don't call me GaGa I've never seen one like that before Don't look at me like that You amaze me The opening goes back and forth between thoughts of disliking "Don't call me Gaga," "Don't look at me like that," and appreciation "I've never seen one like that before," "You amaze me." Touches on the good/bad sides of Fame, and other things. He ate my heart, he a-a-ate my heart (You little monster) He ate my heart, he a-a-ate my heart out (You amaze me) She made videos during The Fame where she said Pop "ate her heart" - these lines are references to those videos and the idea of Pop (the male in the song) swallowing her whole. Look at him, look at me That boy is bad, and honestly He's a wolf in disguise But I can't stop staring in those evil eyes The Pop industry is bad, pretends to be good, and Gaga knows this but wants to keep going. Also, in DiTD she said "Run, run, her kiss is a vampire grin. The moon lights her way while she's howling at him," - I'm probably totally reaching here, but mythologically vampires and werewolves don't get along, yet Gaga talks about herself referencing both creatures, like a combination of them- as TF and TFM are a combination of light/dark of fame. So this "wolf in disguise" could play into that too, idk. Just brainstorming and reaching. Regardless: "He's a wolf, in disguise" - Fame looks nice, but it can be very dark and dreary. I asked my girlfriend if she'd seen you round before She mumbled something while we got down on the floor baby We might've ****ed not really sure, don't quite recall But something tells me that I've seen him "something tells me I've seen him," maybe it's deja vu because she's seen a different side of Fame- the good side, so this more evil, consuming side, has a resemblance, but she doesn't recognize it the same way. He ate my heart (I love that girl) He ate my heart (I love that girl, she's hot as hell) He ate my heart (I love that girl) He ate my heart (wanna talk to her, she's hot as hell) Again referencing her videos of how Pop at her heart/brain, but now we're hearing the male's perspective too- it loves her, she's hot as hell, wants to talk to her. Pop chased after her because she was appealing, the way the public chased after her after she became famous with The Fame. This part touches on the obsession people have with celebrities; a dark side of fame. I wanna just dance but he took me home instead Uh oh! There was a monster in my bed We french kissed on a subway train He tore my clothes right off He ate my heart and then he ate my brain Even here she's referencing songs from The Fame: "Just Dance," "Paparazzi" - the video began with the man who killed her in bed with her, and "LoveGame" - french kissing on a subway train. Then talks about how he ate her heart and her brain. The switch from positive sides of fame to dark sides of fame.

Well I know for a fact the intro is in reference to the fact she doesn't like being called Gaga by whichever guy she's having s-x with, and it's also about seduction and she's amaze at the size of his ****. And I think it's pretty clear the entire song just follows of from LoveGame, but instead o choosing between love and fame she is wondering if she loves someone she has casual s-x with. "He ate my heart" is about how she's falling for him & also a reference to him eating her out. I'm a million percent sure monster isn't one of her deeper songs tbh. But everything in music is subjective and I do like ur take on the song
