Is the song 'Monster' about rape?

So I was listening to this amazing song earlier, and some of the lyrics stood out to me as quite disturbing, especially after Gaga's confirmation that she had been raped early on in her career.

Lyrics like:

- "We might've fVcked, not really sure"

- "He licked his lips, said to me
Girl you look good enough to eat
Put his arms around me
Said "Boy now get your paws right off me""

- "I wanna Just Dance
But he took me home instead
Uh oh! There was a monster in my bed

We french kissed on a subway train
He tore my clothes right off

He ate my heart then he ate my brain"

All these lyrics imply a girl who's off her face on alcohol or d--gs, being coerced into non-consensual s-x by a predatory guy. The repetition of "he ate my brain" also sounds creepy as hell, implying the whole thing destroyed her mentally after it happened.  :( I just can't view this song in the same way anymore, it's a very dark song IMO. But still flawless as fvck.  :legend:

I think it's about someone who takes advantage and is too aggressive and has abusive tendencies. I don't think it's flat out about rape though because it implies that they were in a relationship and everything was consensual.

I'm not sure it does imply that. She says "I wanna just dance, but he took me home instead".

The only lyric that doesn't really support the whole rape theory is "We french-kissed on a subway train." Would she really be doing that if she wasn't consenting? Then again it also implies she's so drunk that she can't remember if they slept together, so there's also that.

Yes it is. It was discussed many times before.

Actually, if you realise, most of gaga things were connected to rape, BR video, Monster,Alejandro,  Do what u want song and video along with other videos, photos and songs.

Yes, I think it's about a close secret relationship she had with someone who was abusive. At the beginning she says "Don't call me gaga." she wanted to be seen as stefani to this guy.

You don't deserve a point of view if the only thing you see is you.

When Gaga said that she has been raped, I think Just Dance is about rape also :emma:

Yes, as well as Alejandro. I even opened a thread about it recently.

"Don't wanna kiss, don't wanna touch, just some my cigarette in hush

Don't call my name, don't call my name, Roberto"

Roberto. Isn't it reminiscent of the name of a certain producer Gaga's worked with in her beginnings? :manicure:

Just. Sayin'.

Yeah, I know. And this upsets me so much. It shows how deeply affected she was and probably still is by s-xual abuse. She puts references of it in her work in order to free herself from it.. It's just extremely sad that she and many other women has to go through something like that.
