I was making a point that perhaps the song could be - but don't think so is about Taylor - considering the title of this thread and the word "Princess" in "Two Steps Behind Me." Every Madonna, Katy, Taylor thread (and of basically every other artist that is successful and threatens Gaga) ends up like this. Hate, hate and more hate. Madonna is the Queen of Pop. End of. You wished you could erase her from music history, but she will always be remembered has the Queen of Pop. Now and forever. If Madonnas approval/disapproval holds no bearing on weather an artist is talented. She doesn't own pop. she doesn't own music. and she certainly does not own art. The title Queen of Pop was given to her by the public and media, the same way it happened with MJ being called King of Pop and Elvis King of Rock. The journalist asked her and called her Queen of Pop and asked about princesses. She simply answered the question and said she liked Taylor. She didn't crown anyone. I wish I could agree with you on some fans not felling threatened by other artists, but the petition below proves the opposite.
