I mean does one mediocre song really deserve both SOTY and ROTY?? Sia deserves a Grammy for just being Sia tbh. All of the huts she's wrote and Chandelier. Stop being so mean to a contemporary just because she's selling more records than Gaga. How do you know why I'm being mean to her? I am disapointed too for Sia but what do you do when both artists are good? Theres only one winner. That doesnt mean Chandelier is trash. The voters are still big on alternative rock, while the public has moved on. Typical awards timelag. All big awards are apples/oranges comparison between genres anyway. After Daft Punk won, it was indie rocks turn again. To a casual viewer it may be redundant but to people in the industry it's not. A songwriter would never get the chance to receive ROTY because they didn't produce anything (most of the time). However, they can get the SOTY because they wrote it, especially when a lot of these "singers" don't write anything but want credit/publishing. Sorry, I'm digressing. When you truly understand the difference you'll appreciate them more and see them as separate entities - trust me. =) Biggest winners: Sam Smith Beck Lady Gaga Biggest Losers: Katy Perry Taylor Swift Beyonce You do know Taylor's album will get more nominations for 2016 right? 1989 missed the deadline for this years (only Shake It Off qualified because the release date was within the threshold). So technically Taylor is good. Now Katy . . . . . . Also Beyonce is fine. Doesn't she have like 20 total now?? I'm sure she's not worried/bothered.
