The greek government overspent for decades, and when Greece finally became a country with better finances that doesn't overspend, a Greek populist socialist party decides to mess it all up and say 'no, we wont give your money back' after all the lowerings in interest rates and pushbacks of the date they need to give it back. Shut up. It's your country that messed things up, the whole EU helped Greece get out of its ****hole (eventhough they got into a ****ty finances themselves thanks to Greece), Greece is finally doing what it's supposed to do, and then this one guy decides to mess it all up. :awkney: Link to post Share on other sites More sharing options...

So Greece was about to bankrupt and the EU give them **** loads of money to save them, cause they use the euro which is the EU currency and that would have made it unstable, also there's a lot of European companies operating in Greece, so that would have affected economies of other countries and overall make the financial crisis in Europe worse. And out of solidarity of course. They had a condition tho - Greece had to become more financially responsible and stop spending more money than they earn. And they love to do that and I'm sure every honest and responsible Greek on the forum can back me up for this statement. :haha: So they agreed and money was falling form the skies like Zeus was throwing lightning bolts in a summer storm. They started to make reforms, made more taxes and some of them had to actually start working to get money. Meanwhile the loan interest was lowered to like 2% which is practically nothing. All the normal hard working Greek people didn't mind all of this, but there were those who did. And this new guy Tsipras, who never worked anything his entire life like the communist he is(since he was a teen, correct me if I'm wrong lol) and doesn't know **** about economy, but like all not very intelligent people is very loud and very ambitious decided that it's his time to shine. So he told all the lazy people and the other ones that were tired of the financial crisis all the "right" things. He promised them he will fight the Enemy, the Enemy is very essential to every communist doctrine whether it's the fascists, Murica or... the EU, they all have one in common tho - just like in every communist fairytale they all come from the West. So the Greek elected him, cause it's always easy to have someone to blame instead of facing your own mistakes. Hard part is now when Tsipras will have to keep some pretty impossible promises. His first bold move was to confront the Enemy about not asking Greece on the statement bout Russia, which they did btw. It's like that everywhere. Btw my information doesn't just come from propaganda I have family and friends working and living in Greece. Also I work with greeks on my job. Things are not THAT bad. And even if they were asking for free money is not a solution, cause what will happen when other countries start demanding this treatment too? The EU can't just print unlimited amount of euros, cause then they'll have no value. And don't even get me started on the Russia helping Greece thing, cause they don't even have money to save their own economy right now. I'm sure you are an intelligent person and you can see that this new prime minister of yours is just giving you empty promises. The only way things will work out the way says they will is if the bad evil EU decides to continue unreasonably pay your country's bill on everything. And let's be honest this is not happening. Let's vote for Syriza so we earn a lot for 4 years but after that have no more euro, an interest rate at over 10% (7% is already unsustainable according to most economics), a debt at over 200% of our GDP, taxes permanently high to pay for all the debt and public sectors, no more businesses coming to Greece because its concurrency position has gone down to the bottom of the list, hyperinflation because Syriza wanted to print away their debt (in drachme ofc), and after those 4 years be in a messy situation where the other political parties can fix the even bigger mess than it already was. Greeks needed to understand that long-term (for the future), New Democrats would've been the right party, but short term (next 2 years basically) Greece needs to pay back loans next months, but they have no money and no European country is willing to give it to thwm anymore. Good luck with that 15% interest rate (which would be 4% had New Democrats won, considering almost all investors DO trust them), and the possibility of leaving the EU in the next 6 months. No country supports Greece not paying back what they lended. Unemployment is 25% by the way, and was decreasing by 2% a year. And the economy was growing, too.
