Maybe it was a personal highlight for Gaga or even a highlight for her as a vocalist, but a career one? :smh:

Barbra pls u have tons of them we really need this one pls pls pls

Tony Bennett has tons of Grammy's, more than Barbra, including all of his collaboration albums and Barbra's collaboration albums.   Barbra hasn't had a Grammy in years.  That could be in her favor.

But  since they've been promoting the hell out of the album with live performances on TV compared to Barbra not,  I give the edge to Cheek 2 Cheek.

She co-wrote ONE of the songs and recorded it 40 years ago. That hardly is some great accomplishment.

The whole Traditional Pop award is about cover songs from the 20s to 50s. It has nothing to do with songs from the 70s and 80s.

People keep using the whole "covers" thing as an excuse for just not liking Jazz. Which cracks me up because 90 percent of this fan base had never heard these songs before. Not to mention that most pop songs are a singer "covering" some other songwriters song.

Are you kidding me? When you look at her career as a whole it's a huge highlight in Pop Music history - she's absolutely taken control of mainstream Pop and influenced/dominated it. She's now released an album with one of the most celebrated artists of our time featuring music that none of her contemporaries can master & is the furthest thing away from mainstream Pop - the music she'll be most celebrated for. She's exposed the young kids of today to Pop Music from some 60 years ago, & she's still managed to nab a Grammy nomination for it, and sell a sh*t tonne of records. Yes, I think C2C is a highlight in her already-illustrious career.

Close call for all of the reasons already mentioned.  I won't be mad if Barbra gets it.  Kudos to Annie Lennox being nominated too, she's amazing.

It doesn't matter if she wins or not - C2C is a career highlight.

Well when years later I'll look back at my fave Gags and her awesome career, this will NOT be the time I fondly remember :ohwell:

How would this even be considered a highlight

She's doing okay and most of us can't wait for her to get back to pop music

barbra has been waiting for another grammy almost as long/longer than Gaga has been alive. Gaga can wait a little longer lol. it's not like she's never won a grammy before. Also Barbra is great! She totally deserves it too.

Some of us have been waiting for something like c2c since she broke out someone to watch over me on the today show. It's a career highlight for sure, besides which showing her real talent to many people and giving Her career more options. C2c will prove to be pivotal in the long run.

I won't lie and say I'd be happy for Babs or Annie, nothing against them personally, but I want that Grammy so bad I can taste it!

That's your opinion, and you're entitled to it.

How is it NOT a highlight? I love all types of music, and I love watching her shine. C2C is a highlight because of how amazing and beautiful her skill at singing Jazz is - and also how amazing her & Tony are together. No-one would ever imagine Lady Gaga owning Jazz on-stage with Tony Bennett - this has proven she's not some 'flash in the pan' as she's so often branded. It's been a huge success both musically, commercially and critically - and it's actually earned her a lot of new fans, surprised/stunted her doubters/critics and introduced a whole new genre of music to her already-existing fan base.

It doesn't matter that she's waited for over 20 years if Cheek to Cheek is a better album, which it absolutely is!

In that logic, Katy should get one too since she has 0 for years now :smh:
