Fizzy 2,217
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2911874/Sickening-moment-helpless-man-blinded-one-eye-two-drunken-thugs-whipped-belt-argument-taxi.html This is the horrifying moment a man was left blinded in one eye after being beaten with his own belt by a gang of thugs. The 32-year-old Bensalaman Ismai was attacked at around 6am on January 26 last year after becoming embroiled in a dispute over a taxi in Birmingham city centre. After trying to run away, he was chased down and punched, kicked and hit in the face with the buckle of his belt, causing him to lose vision in one of his eyes. He is seen running away but is chased down by Evans who snatches the belt out of his hand and begins whipping his face and body. Gargham then joined in the attack, kicking Mr Ismai while he writhes on the ground to the horror of by-standers. Sheldon is later seen running towards the group, punching him several times in the face. Mr Ismai has had two operations since the attack, but has permanently lost sight in his left eye as a result of the brutality. 'The amount of mindless violence that was inflicted was totally over the top and was definitely fuelled by alcohol,' said Detective Constable Chris Smith of West Midlands Police. 'The victim has had to go through an extensive amount of medical treatment including surgery. 'After an initial operation on his eye he needed further surgery and in March was told that he had lost the sight in his left eye permanently. 'He is still coming to terms with his injuries and has told me that he feels his live is over, and there’s no opportunity left to him. 'We accept yesterday’s decision and hope that the jail sentence brings some comfort to the victim.' Dailmail published other story talking about the celebratory message: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2913494/Time-deserved-glass-wine-Gloating-Facebook-message-female-thug-moments-spared-jail-shocking-belt-attack-left-man-blinded.html She was handed a suspended sentence of two years and a six-month curfew by Judge Paul Farrer, who said the violent behaviour was not in her character. After she was spared jail this week, Sheldon caused outrage by posting celebratory pictures outside court on Facebook. The young woman also uploaded an image of herself grinning and giving the thumbs-up in a taxi after her sentencing hearing. She updated her Facebook status saying: ‘Guess who’s back again, Sophie’s back so tell your friends. ‘After a long old day glad to be home and put my feet up and have a well-deserved glass of wine. Evans, from Bromford, was jailed for four years and six months after pleading guilty to causing GBH with intent. Gargham, from Rubery, was sentenced to four years and five months after being found guilty of the same charge. Sheldon, who works in a beauty salon, was spared jail after the court heard that hours before the attack, her estranged mother had committed suicide after a row with her. The young woman from Gwent, South Wales, who delivered at least four punches and a kick to Mr Bensalaman while wearing high heels, pleaded guilty to causing grievous bodily harm with intent and was given a two-year suspended sentence with a six-month curfew. Sentencing, Judge Paul Farrer said: ‘It is plain you acted out of character against a very particular background. Unwisely, you went to, in effect, drown your sorrows. The violence you used was minimal. ‘You did not intend to cause serious injury ... You are hardworking, have potential and are well thought of. It is very likely you will never offend in the future and that allows me to take an exceptional course.’ ’ “The scars on my mind are on Replay”

SleepingSun 1,481
I can't believe the woman doesn't have to go to jail What is WRONG with the judges, is every last bit of justice LOST? This girl is scum, someone who doesn't hesitate to hit a human being with such brutal force does not deserve to be free anymore. Alcohol is NOT an excuse for anything. What do other people learn from such a sentence, including that vile woman herself? Of course they learn that anything goes, no pun intended. One second I'm a troll, then suddenly the troll is me. teo 609
This is horrible and sickening, but it's not a hate crime so what does religion has to do with the case?
garnite 8
This is horrible and sickening, but it's not a hate crime so what does religion has to do with the case? and where does it even say he's a muslim? it just says he's algerian.
teo 609
and where does it even say he's a muslim? it just says he's algerian. I guess the OP assumed it by something? Cause the title sounds like she attacked him cause he's Muslim, not because she's a sociopath and a criminal.
