For those who think it's not Gaga's decision (you may be right) but what the f*ck is the deal with 'no plan' to release it ??

I mean they asked a big star like Lady Gaga to sing a song for them and they have no plan to release the song ?? Quite a strange way to promote their piece of work... I'm just saying...

How the past weeks probably went:

1. Gaga told Howard Stern about her s-xual abuse story

2. Diane Warren heard about it and decided Gaga might want to be involved in this project

3. Gaga wanted to contribute to this cause so they recorded a song

4. The rights to the song were given to the producers of the movie

5. The point of the song is to raise awareness, not to be a Gaga hit song, so it didn't get the usual treatment from Interscope or Gaga

6. It would be weird if the song wasn't mentioned AT ALL by Gaga before it was played, so Gaga tweeted about it  - not promising anything. By only tweeting about it a few hours beforehand and NOT adding an itunes link she kept the hype to a minimum so that the focus remained on the documentary and not some "comeback song".

The only reason anyone should've been hyped is Diane, who probably got over excited because she's proud of her work - but she's in no authority or position to promise a release of any kind. Neither Gaga nor Interscope are being messy with promotion, they're just putting in an extra bit of effort to help a good cause.

Read the post directly above yours and maybe you'll rethink your attitude.

Fans should be praising Gaga for contributing to this cause rather than making self centered rants about what they didn't get. "love" to many in this fanbase only seems to be directed inward and not back to Gaga or the broader world.

If it's at the end of a film/doco surely that means we'll hear it at some point...

Whispering

No

Absolutely not, actually

Sympathy is something you feel if you relate to their situation or think about it for some time

We clearly don't

Not even remotely close to what sympathy is about. Sympathy is feeling for another person's misfortune, not feeling with them because you relate to their situation. I can feel sympathy and sorrow for victims of all kinds of abuse, disease or misfortune...without experiencing the same thing.

"We" speaks for everyone, or tries to, and you are wrong in your statement...there are other people here who can and do feel sympathy and concern for others. I guess you are one of the ones who don't and so you are exactly the type of person I was referring to in my original comment.

This is the best thing I've read in here, thank you

Now if we could just get everyone else to realise this. Good post, my friend.

Oh my God, are you seriously equating "love" to "gives us stuff because we kick and scream for it"? I strongly believe you need to rethink your definition of love. Just because you love someone, you don't owe them anything. The overall feeling of absolute entitlement in this fanbase is appalling. I wish Gaga wasn't so good to us from the beginning, maybe then people would know real gratitude.

Because this song wasn't made for her fans. It was written by another person and Gaga was asked to contribute...to lend her voice to the serious and delicate matter. What's so hard to understand about that?

This isn't a major release movie. It is a documentary that is shining the light on the fact that 100,000 college students will be the victims of rape in this school year alone. Do you not really understand the difference here between a song written or recorded for fans and this particular song?
