the songs were just released a bit ahead of time during Swinefest, everyone grew accustomed to those versions. However the thing that people missed from the album was the fact that the songs sounded vacuumpacked...as if there was no air in them to let the sounds breathe. It didn't have reverb to let the instrumentals sound spacious. Also people thought the album would be more Aura-ish.

ARTPOP wasn't overproduced. Born This Way was. ARTPOP just wasn't produced by producers who understood the "pop" genre. Zedd and Madeon aren't pop dj's. It should've been produced by RedOne.

A lot of the songs sound like they had their souls sucked out of them. There's like, this missing quality in them. Swine, dope, MANiCURE, jewels n d--gs, donatella...

You don't deserve a point of view if the only thing you see is you.

It wasn't rushed, it was the total opposite. She and her producers had too much time twittling their thumbs before release which led to tracklist changes and overproduction. This led to an album that had little continuity and overwhelming production.

This is the best way to put it. It's like the musical equivalent of Jpeg compression. Sex Dreams @ Swinefest vs. Sexxx Dreams is the best example. At Swinefest it had such a sensual tempo, the synths during the pre-chorus were so clear and full of depth, and then the synths during the chorus were this huge explosion. On the album version everything sounds sped up, processed, and flat. I don't see how anyone with a good ear for production could not notice that.

Venus has the same problem. This is where RedOne or Fernando production would have saved the day.

Gaga has said so multiple times it was rushed. She only a couple weeks to come up with the idea for the APPLAUSE video. And with DO WHAT U WANT being a last minute single change, she had to rush a concept for it, hence why she said it was like no endevor she's ever been through. Some of the songs may not have been rushed but a few such as VENUS were, recall Gaga working on it only a couple months before ARTPOP was released? And Gaga was forced to come up with ideas for songs while being exhausted from touring and healing from her broken hip. She said it in an open letter as well. She posted the letter in December 2013. Explaining Troy's expectations for her, not having time to thoroughly come up with ideas, being exhausted and not having people by her side in hospital who she expected to be there.

People also need to stop acting like RedOne is God. Almost every Monster favorite has zero RedOne production on it. And people who say RedOne produced GYPSY, um, no, Madeon produced it, RedOne just contributed to song writing. I feel Gaga needs to detach herself from RedOne and show the world she can have a hit album without him and his named attached.

Because it didn't match what they wanted it to be, never mind that the production and melodies are top-notch.
