Born Brave

Them clinging onto The Fame era expecting her to go back. She never will :creepflop:

Maybe not totally but she can use the sound

My name is SISTERV and I have something to say:

A phuqing major news outlet (among others) are talking positively about Gaga for the first time in four years, and some of you are still nitpicking at the technicalities of the article. OBVIOUSLY whoever wrote this is not a hardcore Gaga fan for them to get their facts so phuqed up....so clearly they are a member of the doubtful GP. Who the actual ****tt cares if these "micro monsters" dont know the details....its the same damn thing with Poker Face...90% of those skinny white bhitchez at the club have no idea what its actually about....but they still bought it on iTunes :derpga: So please, shut up, enjoy the applause, and us little monsters can stan gracefully at the details while the GP helps get those Germanotta coins up and a few hits on the way. It doesnt make Gaga less of an artist, and its ndver going to make the GP smarter anyway.

Thank you. I am done.

PREACH!!!!

high heeled fem

3. Because these lyrics from "Scheibe": "Love is objectified by what men say is right/...Blonde high-heeled feminist, enlisting femmes for this/ Express your womankind, fight for your right/ When I'm on a mission, I rebuke my condition/ If you're a strong female you don't need permission." That's some kick-ass feminist ish right there.

I hate that everyone seems to want Gaga to take on her old persona again.   She's been there done that, time for new directions.  Working with RedOne is fine as long as they challenge themselves in new ways.

Everybody wants Gaga to turn into her own tribute act.  It's annoying and the death of artistry.

So true. People are latched onto this idea of Gaga that was meant to be a satire of Pop Culture. The reason people ate out of her hand and are still holding on to that version of her is because that's how she created herself during The Fame. She wanted to rebuild obsession with the Pop Star, and she succeeded. But now, instead of appreciating her knowledge and skill, people keep wanting her to be that character again.

To be fair, Gaga hasn't really proved to people that she can be better than that character yet. That's still her peak as of now. If she can evolve in a real way then I don't think people will want The Fame back so much. For example I'm sure a lot of people wanted Madonna to go back to her 80's pop sound before she put out Ray of Light, but that album changed everyone's perception of her and made her a much more mature artist. Gaga needs an album like that

gagzus

they only want them to make a hit song so the biggest & most dedicated stanbase will give their charts relevance again  :spin:

she's proved many times over to many of us that she is so much more that "The Fame" Gaga.  For many of us TF is clearly her least mature and "worst" overall work.   And vocally she surpassed ALL of her LG albums with some of her work during the C2C era.   She is so much more than that "character" from The Fame.

Of course she's more than that, but she hasn't translated that potential into a body of work yet (I'm not counting C2C cause it's a cover album, it doesn't showcase anything but her vocals). She's given us 4 albums of the same style of electronic dance music and to an outside observer it would all seem pretty similar. Sure us hardcore fans might know the difference between Fame Gaga and BornThisWay Gaga, but to an outside observer it would understandably seem like she's been playing the same gig for 6 years straight - electronic dance-pop songs wrapped in wacky costumes and "gimmicks".

My point was that I wouldn't blame casual fans or non-fans for not expecting much more from her beyond reiterations of The Fame sound, I mean that's exactly what she delivered with ARTPOP. It's unreasonable to expect people to acknowledge her as this amazing musical talent who's so much more than just a pop star when she hasn't actually shown it in her music yet (outside of a few stray songs).
