Several German cities are hosting protests against the "Islamization of Germany" and for the anti-Muslim movement Pegida. Several politicians had beforehand asked people to stop these protests. But, there were far more people joining counter protests.

Tonight, in Leipzig, around 30.000 people marched against the local Pegida department Legida.

In München around 20.000 people took part in a protest named "München is colored". Here the victims of the Paris attacks were remembered. Only 1.500 marched with the protest against München's "Islamization".

In the capital city Berlin 4.000 people marched against Islamophobia and 400 against Islamization.

Another big counter protest was in Hannover, counting 17.000 people. These numbers come from the German press bureau DPA.

A number of French or French speaking cartoonists have also made a Facebook page called "Cartoonists against Pegida". They accuse Pegida of trying to use the Paris attacks for their own profit in "a very cynical way".
