Ray of Light 8,134
I wouldn't mind if the credit was given were its due, but Teenage Dream is one of the most basic songs i've ever heard, even if it was released by someone else i wouldn't change my words.... So yeah Bilboard giving Katy the #2 spot is like This is a Billboard list, have you seen the songs that top its charts on a weekly basis? It's not a factor of wether it's BASIC or not, it's a factor of wether it was GOOD or not. And Teenage Dream is both GOOD and on top of that, successful. It's not a hard concept to grasp especially considering Katy is Billboard's darling.

Ray of Light 8,134
So it was Good ? Its an Okayish song, don't push it sis It's the epitome of harmless, endearing pop music. An anthem that will be remembered for decades and revive every Valentine's Day, as the world's youth ventures into love and its side effects of heartbreak and lust Bonnie Mckee & Katy Perry are unstoppable together Get used to it GGD Gurls
Mills 446
Well deserved. Her best song to date being recognized as one of the best songs of the current decade so far - that couldn't get any better. And I'm confident that it'd continue to be a defining moment of hers as part of her ever growing legacy in the music industry. Great top five too, especially the top four songs since these songs cemented, err at least helped in cementing, the careers of their respective recording artists. WFL gave Rihanna a second commercial peak in the worldwide stage; TD was the face of the album which finally catapulted Katy Perry as a modern-day pop icon comparable to Gaga; "Get Lucky" re-introduced Daft Punk to the new generation of music listeners; and RITD led Adele to be a bona fide global superstar and started the era of the most successful album of the 2010s so far. If these songs are nowhere near the meaning of "defining" the first half of the decade, then I don't know which else would've.

The same could be said about pretty much every song on there, nobody really sings old songs on a daily basis. Doesn't mean they're not remembered esp. when it comes on the radio, karaoke, parties, holidays, etc
Ara Gem 44
none of the songs before TEOG are even close to being as good as it, and Bad Romance SLAYS every song in that whole list, so goodbye
