In my opinion, ARTPOP is better than The Fame Monster

Oh look another ARTPOP worshipper putting down Gaga's other albums to justify ARTPOP being a high quality album. The more you do this, the more desperate you look.

I think ARTPOP as an 8 track EP would have slayed the fame monster.

Applause

GUY

Venus

Gypsy

Do What U Want

Swine or Aura

Sexxx Dreams

ARTPOP

I think The Fame Monster is amazing because it's cohesive in sound and theme. All the songs represent a different monster of fame that Gaga's encountered and every song is awesome in it's own way. I don't get how anyone could say that SHICD, Teeth and DITD aren't amazing (Teeth's production is everything, DITD is so dark, haunting and beautiful & SHICD is a mid-tempo jam that's so fun and easy-going).

Born This Way is my favourite album in terms of theme (Politics, Religion, Love & Empowerment) and Gaga really experimented with musical structures and the songs are just much better than anything she's done previously.

ARTPOP to me, is hit or miss, but I love the album because it's Gaga's most musically diverse album where she really experimented with a different amount of genres. I would say that there's some songs which she could've (IMO) left out.

The Fame Monster is just not that deep. ARTPOP is really deep and has a great message and super-personal it's well produced and it's way more mature.

and think about it! The Fame Monster's songs are just not THAT great I mean "Teeth" "So Happy I Could Die" "Dance In The Dark" are just not that great compared to "Mary Jane Holland" "Sexxx Dreams" or "Gypsy"

MJH is about weed, s-x dreams is about s-x, gypsy is about traveling.

Teeth is about a person showing his/her true self, the truth 'or fear thereoff'. (deeper)

So Happy I could Die is about her fear of addiction and alcohol. (deeper)

Dance In The Dark is about body image and fear for s-x with the lights on. (deeper)

:what:  :thetea:  :madge:

Excuse me what? You have to be kidding? Seriously? REALLY?

Have you actually listened to her music?

I feel like this is a sympathy thread for ARTPOP.  :rip:

Well, for me, ARTPOP and TFM are her two masterpieces, so I'm just supporting the argument that ARTPOP is a deep album and it's her best, but in my opinion, TFM is just as good and ARTPOP wins for me just because it has more songs that are TFM level great, as I said they are uncomparable, different styles, so sometimes I can't even decide :laughga: for example, Bad romance is still her best song for me, but I am strongly and emotionaly connected to ARTPOP the song, so I can't choose between these two, plus if we consider Aura as a unique complextro masterpiece, I really can't tell tbh :laughga:

I love ARTPOP song, its like a calm lighthouse among these super loudsy overproduced songs. I have toadmit, I loved most ARTPOP songs when I first heard the album but they got old very quickly. Now they feel almost cheesy and embarrassing to listen to. Lyrically I prefer BTW much more. So for me TFM > BTW ...... ARTPOP > TFM which is still amazing for its singles tho.

I loved ARTPOP at first listen and I still listen to it today :laughga: when I compare it with BTW that I was mostly dissapointed with after the first listen and then had to spend long time learning to like the album... I was so relieved that ARTPOP was so great :flutter:

so my rank would be something like ARTPOP - TFM - TF/BTW, but it´s the diversity of oppinions that is beautiful

MUSICALLY, not a chance. TFM exceeds in all areas.

WITH THAT BEING SAID.... ARTPOP is my personal favorite.

Each song on The Fame Monster represents a deep fear, phobias if you will, that Gaga experienced during her early career days.  Most songs on the album are highly relatable for many (fear of love, fear of the truth, fear of loneliness), which is why I believe it's earned it's spot as the iconic album it is.  It's cohesive, the theme isn't interrupted.  It's a real package.

I seem to have problems relating to songs like MANiCURE, Jewels N Drugs or Fashion! in such a deep way and I am fairly certain most common people cannot relate to those songs in a deep way as well.  I love ARTPOP, but it's not as cohesive or relatable as The Fame Monster is.

In my opinion TFM is the only album, which is great from start to finnish, maybe Teeth is little underwhelming.

ARTPOP has few msterpieces like DWUW, Aura, Venus and Applause, but sadly also a lot of fillers like Donatella, MANiCURE, Fashion!, GUY, JnD and Swine (I like the last one, but imho the production is very disappointing comparing to the SwineFest version).

Also TFM has clear concept, repeating in every song, delivers that iconic feel of dark PopGa sinigng about all the fears she has but still doing that in very enjoyable and catchy way. ARTPOP is nice too, but to be honest to this day I don't get what main idea makes all the songs a one full piece. In fact it feels like random mixtape, good one but very random.

List of Gaga's albums in depth

Shallowest at the top deepest at the bottom

1. ARTPOP

2.THE FAME

3. BORN THIS WAY

4. THE FAME MONSTER

(not including cheek to cheek, does not technically regard gaga's depth as a lyricist and artist, only her musicianship)

The last three are FAAAR deeper than ARTPOP because of the underlying messages about fame, about misfortune that fortune causes, the follies of success, the deep intense pain that is love, where as ARTPOP is a lofty exploration of the subjects for the purpose of recovery FROM THE DEPTH of these, this is slightly based off of things gaga has said about these three albums
