In my opinion, ARTPOP is better than The Fame Monster

and think about it! The Fame Monster's songs are just not THAT great I mean "Teeth" "So Happy I Could Die" "Dance In The Dark" are just not that great compared to "Mary Jane Holland" "Sexxx Dreams" or "Gypsy"

:awkney: Gurl

Dance In The Dark is the best song of her entire career.

Bad Romance is overrated, yeah, but still, one of the biggest masterpieces of this siecle. it was literally everywhere. It's her biggest smash hit. The music video is legendary.

Telephone is the best selling female collaboration of all time. The music video defines the word 'iconic'.

Alejandro was her biggest hit in South & East Europe and Latin America. The video was probably the most talked thing in 2010 along with the meat dress.

Speechless is her best ballad.

Monster, So Happy I Could Die and Teeh are pop masterpieces.

These 8 songs together are a perfect comibination. They fit together and the concept of the album SLAYS LIVES.

Bad Romance - fear of love

Alejandro - fear of men

Monster - fear of s-x

Speechless - fear of death

Dance In The Dark - fear of herself and loneliness

Telephone - feat of stress

So Happy I Could Die - fear of addiction

Teeth - Fear of truth

Each song tells a fear fame has induced on her, which refers perfectly to The Fame. Deep and smart lyrics, gorgeous instrumentals, stunning visuals a dark atmosphere and a fantastic and cohesive theme.

ARTPOP is amazing, but The Fame Monster is perfect

ARTPOP is my favorite album of all time, but I wouldn't say its necessarily better than TFM. I say that because TFM is actually perfect, it's short, cohesive, and has a perfect balance between being too clean and too noisy. I can recognize that, but ARTPOP's message and music relates more to me personally, and I have a much deeper connection with it. That's why I always put it at #1 and I say it's her best. I don't give a **** if anyone thinks it's musically better than her other albums, if people think it's messy, if people like it or hate it, it doesn't change my connection with it and the memories that I have from the era. I can say with complete confidence, that I believe TFM and ARTPOP are her best two albums, so whichever one you say is her best, you're not really wrong haha.

Although I appreciate the cohesive-ness of TFM (with each song representing a fear), sometimes I think keeping with a theme can be restricting.

Not sticking with one can be messy.

The broader [Gaga] spreads her net musically, the less distinctive her art becomes.

It's like being directionless. Not a clear idea what message she wants to send. Or like the jack of all trades, but master of none.

How come when the ARTPOP era was in effect we all stanned and fiercely protected it but now that it's over, why do we feel the need to drag ha  :smh:

Few people have dragged ARTPOP in this thread. In love the album, its just I love TFM more. That was the point.

I do think a lot of (immature) fans over-praise The Fame Monster because of its commercial success.

Impressed by Nicki tbh.

The Fame Monster is, as many people have said, pop perfection

It's an unbelievable album of epic proportions. I sometimes wish ARTPOP didn't exist when we have the likes of TFM by the same artist. Fair enough if ARTPOP came before TFM as a 'warm up', but the fact that it comes after always leaves a bad taste in my mouth.

ARTPOP, for the average popstar, is a decent-to-good album. However, since it's a Gaga album, it kinda falls flat on its face in the eyes of TFM.

Just my opinion ...  :)

TFM -> BTW -> TF -> ARTPOP

On the contrary, I think The Fame Monster is one of her deepest albums :udidnt: Monster and Dance In The Dark have a lot of emotion behind them it seems :omg:

I really enjoy both albums so I'm not really sure which one I prefer, there are more songs I enjoy on ARTPOP but then again it has double the number of songs so I'm not sure if that counts :dies:

yeah but its the same case when most of the monsters say that TFM is better than ARTPOP, its not fair because TFM has just 8 songs and ARTPOP has 15 and ARTPOP should be more appreciated for this, because in my opinion its more difficult to have an 15 song album stand for itself when TFM can't and i don't think that if TFM had 15 song it wouldn't have the same apraciation or the songs stand for itself.... Basically idrk if what i wrote makes any sense :emma:, but my goal was to make everyone see that ARTPOP is a really good album: that 14/15 songs on it can shine and i think thats a lot harder than make a 8 songs album were 7/8 songs are the good ones from the album, so just consider that before judging ARTPOP :fan:

Fiona Apple

and it's not like our opinions are not one bit influenced by successes and reviews. I mean if it weren't then I should better find the rock you are hiding under.

Mine are not. If I like an album I like it.I don't give a **** about its success or its reviews even though I DO like to watch chart positions, sales and metacritic score. Afterall that's the point of this thread. If it was about which one was more successful or more acclaimed this thread would be pointless
