Okay but he's not actually being compared to hip-hop acts like Iggy is (and Azealia, but she is rightfully a hip hop artist).

He's not experiencing the discrimination that Azealia and other black artists (many of whom have voiced their agreement, please not) are.

just because Azealia isn't successful doesn't mean she is discriminated lol

I wasn't but there has been other celebs giving their thoughts and also a lot of people noticing how the media is portraying this. The amount of articles choosing a "glamorous" or even "s-xy" image of Iggy next to a bad picture of Azealia attempting to make her out to be the one in the wrong for speaking about her worries for her culture.

It's just an awful situation that is clearly far away from coming to a head. We'll see though, hopefully a lot of members here will look back at this time and feel awful about it some day... probably not but we'll see!

I've never consciously noticed that, to be totally honest. I remember Azealia's instagram pic in which she asked news outlets to use that picture instead of something else. I have no doubt the deliberate picture use you mentioned is going on, now that I think about it.

One of Azealia's points that got to me was the framing of her as an "angry Black b---h" the second she opens her mouth. Talk about devaluing her critiques to "race-baiting", since we all know U.S. racism ended in 1964 and we are colorblind. Unless it's inconvenient and say Azealia the "Black Ghetto Bitch deserved it". (Someone on ggd said that and I was like whoa).

So pathetic.

My dad died of cancer. My sister and brother survived it.

But that metaphor using cancer for ignorance didn't bother me one bit.

I'm really sorry to hear that. I'm always here if you need to speak. I know how hard things like that can be

I guess I just have a different threshold for stuff like that. We all react in different ways but to me that is highly offensive.

just because Azealia isn't successful doesn't mean she is discriminated lol

But it's the fact that Iggy is being allowed to pretty much get away with her racist lyrics and tweets, whereas Azealia is not (and what Iggy has said has been far, far worse).

Open your eyes people. This is far bigger than you all are thinking. Look around at the world. Look at how ****ed up it is.

Well let's put it like this. Iggy is a trashy rapper who wins awards while the best rappers are just plain irrelevant and don't know a thing about hip hop because they can't get top 10 hits and pop radio airplay

Sad but true

Lady Gaga/ Madonna/Lana /Azealia Banks/ Jazmine Sullivan/ DEEE-LITE/ Moko

Iggy allegedly racistic tweets are all from ages ago. She apologized for lyrics. Since then she didn't insult anyone while on the other hand Azealia is bashing everyone left and right for no reason. She is in feud with 90% of celebrities lol.

Um you said you hate Iggy, but if you want them to be equal, shouldn't you ahte Azealia aswell lol?

Isn't she doing the maximum to embody that stereotype on twitter?

It would be the Duck Dynasty guy complaining that critics of of anti-gay comments were stereotyping him as an ignorant hillbilly. That's his whole schtick!

I hate Iggy because of what she's doing to the history of hip-hop music and how she's making people I care about, feel.

She also can't face up to conflict and get's others (T.I., his boing-boing illiterate wife, others I'm sure) to stick up for her and back her up. Azealia fights her battles alone.

Iggy is basically the epitome of everything I hate.

I mean, honestly, I do disagree with some things Azealia has said. I refuse to feel guilty about what my ancestors did, but at the same time, I have respect for the struggle African-Americans went through - and are still going through - in the history of this planet.

Everyone coming for me about 'Will.i.am not being hip hop'... I know of his roots. I loved BEP early stuff. I know where he comes from and the music he used to make. But he's done almost as much to make the hip hop genre skewed and muddy as Iggy. I mean, I've seen people thinking #WILLPOWER is great hip hop/urban music. I mean :toofunny:

I remember that :toofunny: I was still kind of in support at there then but I've done a lot more reading and education now.

youre delusional

He had to deal with this like everyone else. How do you know he didn't experienced discrimination?

As many black artists have voiced their agreement with Azealia other black artists have showed support for Iggy Azalea. No one is the voice of 'black people' and no one knows what 'black people' think. They are all individuals with different points of views.

You have no right to discredit his opinion about his own race and his culture, specially if you are not black. That's worse than Iggy Azalea appropriating their culture
