But it does come off a little pretentious indeed; "If you’re not gonna write your own music,†she tells me, “you better be able to blow." it sounds like she wants to dictate her own rules: people are free to like whatever they want, real artists or manufactured products. And for gaga who is very known for her outfits and fashion.....well I'm not veyr sure she creates her clothes too

That is her opinion about a topic that she knows a lot about, and she's hardly the first person to say it. Because without one skill or the other, how can you possibly be considered a musical artist?

 

And regarding the fashion, come on. She will almost always say who created it, and doesn't claim to have created them.

that's what I don't get - how can a person like a manufactured product? 

and for Gaga not creating her own clothes - first of all, she is not a designer, she is a singer. and if you're titled a singer, you better be fuÑking able to sing. that's why I find nothing pretentious in what Gaga said and fully agree with her.

It's possible she was referring more to her earlier works, where Rob Fusari and RedOne's influence can be heard pretty clearly.

First of all, what article is this from where Gaga says she's only written 90% of her songs? Sounds like bullsh!t. If that really did come from her mouth I'll be extremely disappointed because it will mean she has outright lied to us in the past.

 

Also, I don't understand this stance she has about singers who can't sing, and yet she's a supporter of Britney and goes to her shows and talks about collabing with her.  

 

I love Gaga but she needs to just shut up and stop talking about other artists. She was so much cooler when she just minded her own business and talked about her own sh!t, rather than everybody else's. 

Where have you been? She's told us many times that there are others (often the producer) who will collaborate and contribute in making, revising or editing the lyrics to a song. She's never said she writes ALL her songs 100% herself. You need look no further than the album booklets which note every single person that contributed to the songwriting and lyrics.

 

It's not like they're writing the whole song, just contributing in some small way to the overall flow of the song after she's written it.
