In the context of retrospect canon, we got FameGa, MonsterGa, and BTWGa, all back with ARTPOP.

3 points in and ready for more

What do you mean?

The VMA Applause performance?

I don't know, to me she's not even Lady Gaga anymore. She honestly needs to change her stage name. Nothing she does anymore is even remotely "Gaga"- everything that represented is now long gone.

There are still leftover people who cling to the image of TF / TFM Gaga :lmao: Let it go, hun. Gaga changes over time, as does every other person as well. It's a normal process, there is no point in waiting for a "TF /TFM Gaga" return :smh: If you like the change: Fine. If  you don't: By all means, let it go!

It's hard to light a candle, easy to curse the dark instead.

For a long time I wanted FameGa and FameMonsterGa to come back...

But I've come to the conclusion that I doesn't matter. I don't even care if she has a platinum album again. All I want is music that I love, and a person to admire for her persona, not for numbers that really mean nothing. And I love her to bits :sara:

This, unfortunately.

But numbers matter

Think about it, when an artist does better commercially, they give you more music videos to watch, more interviews, performances (Tv promo), they are on the cover of magazines (beautiful pictures) for you to look at and admire.

BTW era gave us 5 videos. The Fame era gave us plenty too. ARTPOP era - 2 Videos.

Sure, it's about the music, but when there is a loss of success these extras don't come. They are not essential, but they would be nice. If the ARTPOP era went better, we would have the Telephone continuation by now, for example.

You're right. Numbers do matter, it was an hasty generalization on my part: it ultimately gives more visibility (and financial freedom) to the artist.

However, I just got to the point where I want really want to separate music (actually any type of art) and commercial success/popularity. I don't even care anymore about promo spots, photoshoots and TV performances. In music, I only care about music videos (because the artist can fully expand his/her vision of the song) and live shows. Of course I would have loved to have a Telephone continuation and if the ARTPOP era did better, we would probably had one. It's also great to hear when Gaga is slaying the charts and the GP! But, for me at least, I'm more than happy with the music and the personnal connection I feel with the artist; I feel nothing concerning chart and sale numbers.

But it's only a personnal development that took a long time to achieve, and the ARTPOP era "underperformance" helped me to realize it. For me, it's what you read. Another person might want something else, and that's okay too! ;)
